Re: Ultimate Editor

Thanks for the responses thunderchero and adi. I finally discovered my problem. I copied a Vanilla install by just making a new folder in Windows and copying the files, and I put the copy in a subfolder of Vanilla (I did use a different folder name). I don't fully understand why this caused my probl...

Re: Ultimate Editor

Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it. I'm still stumped. I use UE to open the stbof.res in the install path, and I hit save without changing anything. I close everything out to be sure, and return to the same location and open the stbof.res file. UE shows my new changes, but when I launch the game ...

Re: Ultimate Editor

I have a question about changing outpost and starbase shield and hull values. I try to change Vanilla using UE 7.1.b making modifications in the stbof.res file under ship stats and my changes never show up in the game. They show in the ship stats using UE and the table it creates (I save the changes...

Re: Ultimate Editor

First of all, thanks for this wonderful tool that allows modding with ease. It’s great to have gems like this. Now, onto my question. I am trying to create larger maps for some older mods (Flagship, UM4, vanilla) using UE and the “Large Map Generation” tutorial. I am using the map sizes in the tutor...

Re: BotF Patcher - 19-Sep-2012 Update

Can anyone tell me which patch limits minor race tech level advancement to your empires current level? I was using the patcher (which is great by the way), applied numerous patches to a few mods, and ended up with the undesired effect of having minor tech level advancement being the same as in the e...

Re: Error Correction Mod Version 2

I may have found a possible bug in the Error Correction mod 3.0. On the Tech screen, under Object Database, when I select the Food tab with my mouse the game terminates. No errors or hangups, it just exits. It doesn't happen on the other tabs such as Energy or Ships. I don't have this problem in any...

Question About Ram Avoidance

If I am playing the Klingons and fighting the Cardassians, are there various options to avoid being rammed or is the 'evade' command always going to be the best choice? Can 'circle' or 'flyby' be effective also? I was just thinking about what various strategies could work to my advantage as to where...
