Hey guys, I'm certain this has been spoken of before but I've never heard of any possibility of a fix..
In my games after many turns 100+ the time between each turn is a joke. I think I have chalked it up to the fleet build up between all the empires, but I can't be 100% sure..
Any idea of a fix for this other then just killing the enemy fleets LoL

I have experimented with some things in my mod Galaxies Mod you might want to take a look at, bigger maps and turn lag doesnt really set in until about turn 150 where they are more than 30 seconds per turn. It may or may not be what you are looking for.

Yea with my modded games, when I have modded my save game and edited the galaxy map so as to give more time for the empires to grow (which strangely doesn't happen how I'd like) the empires simply build build build the same ships which if you destroy them all, the turn rate improves much faster again.. But I don't see why a large fleet doing nothing should have such a huge bearing..

Personally I think it has to do with the AI build queue, not ship movement. In GALM they move small fleets of ships (2-3 ships) from system to system, and leave a large fleet and even a STARBASE to protect thier home systems. On turn 1, you will notice that all AI empires will begin construction of a home system outpost, I have only seen one AI starbase however and that was more recently (like, 2 days ago). Anyways, have fun.
