I've currently in the process of adding ships to my shiplist and editing their stats etc. The final step will be to go through the sizes of them all to make sure they are roughly the right size.
Can anyone please tell me if there is a trick to editing the scale? For example if I make a galaxy class ship 150% scale and a Miranda 75% scale, does that mean the galaxy will be twice the length or volume of the Miranda? Are there other variables, such as ship type etc?
Thank you

Re: Edit Scale
I wish there was an easy answer,
But it depends on the way the creator does conversion of the model as to what size the model will display in game.
but this section has the important info.

slot sharing causes a problem when scaling also. but there is no easy way to get it perfect unless you create/convert all the ships yourself.

Re: Edit Scale
Great, thanks
Just to be clear, if for example I rename ships in my shiplist to create an extra slot, and then use the additional slot I've created for similar size ships, will they be the same size in game or are there other factors?
For example if I rename a model to H1, and it creates a file called H1_ if I make H1 a TOS style constitution class and H1_ a refit version, will they definitely be the same size in game based on the fact they share a slot, or are there other variables?

1. How the creator does conversion of the modelSonOfWorf wrote:Just to be clear,............are there other factors?
2. scale used by trek.exe in ship slots (UE - edit/Graphics/Add/Remove ship models)
examples;
if creator converts model at 500 meter (correct size of model) it would use 1.0 (100% in UE)
but if creator converts same model at 100 meters it would need a scale of 5.0 (500% in UE)
this is also dependent on combat distances.
