Create a Shortcut to the game. then in the properties setting of the shortcut, change the Target so it has '' -Mudd'' at the end, without quotes, case sensitive and with a space after ''exe''. for example mine reads ''C:\botf\trek.exe -Mudd'' <--- for money and the rest is below make sure you go to start then run to do this depending wich windows you have

once thats done. start a new game, using the shortcut (for some reason autorun doesnt allow this cheat to work).
whilst in game:
press F9 to accumulate research on whatever your current ''project'' is.
press F10 for an extra 10,000 credits, this way you can never run out of money.
press F11 so you can see the whole map, uncovering all previously unexplored sectors.

Start game with trek.exe but add the following to get the desired effect.
trek.exe -bones to see the FMV when u form an alliance
trek.exe -kirk to see the FMV when a planet is destroyed
trek.exe -gorn to see the FMV when the game is lost
trek.exe -picard to see the FMV when the game is won

Hello, With the 2017 ALL IN ONE INSTALLER. Do the MUDD cheats still work? If so how? I have tried inserting -MUDD in different locations with negative results. I would appreciate any assistance.

How to add mudd cheats to DxWnd

open Dxwnd fullscreen or DxWnd windowed

start menu\microprose\tools\DxWnd\Dxwnd fullscreen or DxWnd windowed
or
your "install path"\tools\dxwnd_Fullscreen\DxWnd.exe or your "install path"\tools\dxwnd_windowed\DxWnd.exe

in new window select version you want to add command line functions. (proper line must be selected)
right click selection and select 'modify" from dropdown menu.

Just add command you want to Launch line then click "OK"

close DxWnd window and when asked save task list changes.

any time after that that edited version (mod) will start using command prompt.

NOTE; setting up this way, desktop and start menu shortcuts will also use command line parameters/-mudd

Thank You Again for the site and work you all put in. I am having problems adding -Mudd and keeping it. I add it to the launch line, hit ok, close DxWnd window and when asked save task list changes. When I launch the game it runs fine but no Mudd cheats. I have followed TC's detailed step by step information (with pictures). Still a no go. I am sure I am doing something simple wrong but will appreciate any help. thank you in advance.

4 possibilities,

1. you edited wrong folder (windowed, fullscreen)
2. you edited wrong mod.
3. it must be -Mudd (capital "M")
4. you must have a single space after trek.exe -Mudd

Thank You for that fast reply I am ignorant about screen shots or I would send one. It is Launch:\BOTF\Vanilla\trek.exe -Mudd

Generic: items checked
Do not notify on task switch
No banner
Run in Window

Hit OK., Close DXWnd window, Task List has changed, do you want to safe it? (yes)
Game runs fine, no F9, f10, f11 results. If I look at it shows F:\BOTF\tools\dxwnd_windowed\dxwnd.exe /R:11
and when I go back to DXWnd it does not show -Mudd

OK I tried the old way. I went to each mod folder, made short cut, then modified -Mudd. It is not as sharp video and smooth mouse movement as the DXWnd version but it does work. Thank You for your help and future help maybe with getting the fantastic, smooth and sharp DXWnd version you have done.

sounds like you want to add mudd to uncivil wars?

when DxWnd window is open you must select that mod first "must be highlighted" before right clicking and selecting modify.
also the only line you need to edit is "Launch"
also do not change path on launch line only add -Mudd to end of launch path

the shortcuts have nothing to do with mudd cheats when using dxwnd. shortcut path will remain "F:\BOTF\tools\dxwnd_windowed\dxwnd.exe /R:11"

when I go back to DXWnd it does not show -Mudd

you may need to "run as admin" so file will save properly.

It is not as sharp video and smooth mouse movement as the DXWnd version but it does work.

that way is unplayable.
