@Flocke yes turns have been slowing down, but as I mentioned in my first post we came into this expecting some rough times in regards to mp playability. iirc, xDx was timing them around turn 220ish and they were processing in about 30 seconds. Now that were past t250, they've certainly slowed longer. Hopefully with the eventual destruction of the Borg Collective and the Dominion Alliance turns will become a bit more tolerable.

A small taskforce of ships was dispatched in order to liberate the Omicron Draconis system from the Borg Collective. It was successful. They were then ordered to rendevous with the Alpha taskforce... But....

Image

The Alpha taskforce is no more. They were ambushed by a combined Dominion-Borg fleet of approximately 100 ships. All 138 ships were destroyed. There were no survivors. In the end, superior technology of the Borg Collective (and the time required to destroy such ships) turned the tide against the Alpha taskforce. The Battle of Gamma Centauri will not be forgotten. What the Alpha taskforce managed to do before it's eventual destruction, was deal a crippling blow to the remainder of the Borg fleet and leave the assisting Dominion ships stranded without support far from their territory.

Image

Thanks to upgrades to the infrastructure in the satellite territory plus the increase in productivity overall, the losses at Gamma Centauri are not the end of the Federation. In a mere matter of turns, over half of the ships have been replaced by newer starships and have been dispatched through the wormhole to continue the struggle against the Dominion-Borg Alliance. With technological advances looming on the horizon, the Federation expects a quick end to the war.

The Romulans have also taken their share of systems from the Borg Collective, and despite no affiliation, their actions have helped the Federation in the war against the Borg-Dominion Alliance.

Here's to hoping the end of the Borg threat is nearing, and peace can return to the galaxy.

This is going to be a long one ;)
As the situation with the rogue controlled warships progresses, Klingon Defense Force warships are in hot pursuit to prevent any blunder at 107 Theta. Two additional and recently commissioned K'vort Class warships have been diverted from the Atbar system to assist in a swift end to the rogue threat.

s

The battle was rather uneventful. There was a lone Starfleet outpost, with no defensive fleet of any kind. The rogue ships opened fire while Klingon Defense Force ships hailed the outpost. Upon our decloaking, the rogue ships quickly retreated, and our warships followed without incident. The outpost was saved by the quick thinking and clever fleet movements of the Klingon Chancellor and his skilled commanders. However, upon capturing the rogue vessels, the rogues were able to self destruct a D13 scout as well as a B'rel class Cruiser. Klingon commandos were able to reacquire the newer Kuda class command ship. Regretfully, we are unable to provide further information on this encounter, the documents of which have been filed deep within the Klingon military archives on Qo'NoS.

An alarming development unfolded (aka a bug in trek.exe). It seems the Obsidian spies have planted Borg nanites among the Klingon and Federation computer systems, as the Klingons were getting a Borg wait icon and the Federation were seeing a Borg MP player who hadn't turned yet (aka the yellow outline of the Borg galactic icon). Weird stuff. A reload did the trick, and we were back on track ;)

Several months passed without incident, however a distress call from Terok Nor has confirmed the inevitable. Bajor was under attack.

The small taskforce of Bajoran interceptors and Maquis Ju'day class fighters was no match for the firepower of the Cardassian fleet. It was also apparent that Terok Nor had been commandeered by enemy forces prior to the battle since it did not even fire a single weapon during the entire battle, but it was eventually destroyed by Bajoran resistance fighters and Cardassian weapons fire toward the end of the battle.

This defeat did not sit well with the Chancellor, and many warships have been assigned to border patrol duties in the immediate areas.

On a lighter note, the Klingons have agreed to Non aggression terms with the UFP as well as the RSE in an attempt to bring a swift end to the Cardassian-Borg crisis that is running rampant in the (wild wild) western galaxy. ;)

This new peace has led to several newly contested sectors, and will amount to several more after all outposts/starbases are completed by both empires.

Meanwhile in another part of Klingon controlled space, steps are being taken to defend border colonies along all Klingon borders, in the event of a Borg or Cardassian incursion.

After 30 or so months of peace, Xindi warships scouting uncharted territory encountered a fleet of Cardassian Keldon class warships, top of the line according to Klingon intelligence reports.

Despite being outnumbered, the Cardassians wish to fight. The underpowered Xindi vessels have superior shielding and are able to withstand brutal punishment from powerful spiral wave disruptors. Several Xindi ships retreat as their shields dwindle to nothing, eventually 8 of the 15 warships are able to escape the battle to fight another day.

The second battle between 8 Xindi ships and 4 Keldons, the Xindi ships prove their worth and destroy all enemy warships in the sector, however the price is high. Only 3 Xindi vessels return home, the honorable sacrifice of the Xindi soldiers aboard those ships will not be in vain. The survivors are hailed as heroes as their ships return home for repairs, refits, and much needed time with their families.

The Romulan Empire has been busy these several turns. The UFP and Klingon Empires were struggling on separate fronts to battle back the forces of the Borg and Dominion respectively. The Romulan Senate, under the leadership of newly elected Pro Consul M'ret, voted to remain neutral in the conflicts that engulfed the galaxy.... Until a shuttle carrying a high ranking member of the Senate, a senator Vreenak, was destroyed reportedly by Dominion Agents on his way home from a peace conference with the female Changeling to discuss trade negotiations 8O This changed everything... within hours of learning of this tragedy the Continuing Committee voted unanimously to declare war on the Dominion and its allies, the Borg Collective. Romulan ships came pouring out from our borders like lava from an erupting volcanoe. In total 196 advanced warships and troop transports carrying thousands of Romulan troops descended upon Borg space.
Image
With the quick mustering of seasoned and battle ready fleet commanders the Romulan Legions caught the Borg fleet out of position and quickly laid waste to the Nexus defending the Kolarin sector. The system was ours within a day and established a beachhead as the fleet pushed deeper into Borg space.
Image
Within three months the Borg held systems of Gamma Iota, Mabus, and the new Hive Mind complex at Straleb fell to the might of Romulan superiority and heavy plasma torpedoes.
Image
The Borg mounted a limited resistance with their remaining warships that were not destroyed by the honorable Federation at the Battle of the Unicomplex 02 in the Straleb sector.
Image
Unfortunately most of the 509 million drones in the system needed to be eradicated since they had been under control of the Borg Queen for far too long. :(

Meanwhile the Dominion was not sitting back and letting their allies fall unchallenged. A combined Cardassian fleet of over 150 Keldon class command vessels and Galor class warships came streaming down from their space. Romulan Commander Shinzon deployed the entire fleet into two task forces to better deal with the Cardassian fleet (and faster battle turns  ) The Romulan fleets fought three hard battles and lost many brave troops, Reman and Romulan alike, but in the end they were successful in fighting back the Cardassian 2nd and 5th Orders and captured their fleet commander, Gul Darheel.
Image
As Talshiar officials interrogate Darheel and operatives run rampant through what is left of the Collective and Dominion. The Praetor hopes, with the Klingons and UFP engaging the enemy as well, to bring a swift and decisive victory for the Alpha quadrant superpowers and restore peace throughout the galaxy.....

No, we haven't given up!! Just things have quieted down on the galactic front. After the fall of the Borg Collective, the Federation began to clean up and reinforce the new territories. The Ferengi, a member of the UFP for quite some time (whose Marauder class ships helped conduct border patrols along the Klingon and Romulan neutral zones during the war), had a sudden government shift and declared themselves independent of Federation membership. The starbase in orbit was dismantled and the Federation ambassador to Ferenginar was dispatched back to Sol.

Image

Luckily, this was only a short term event, and the new Ferengi government looked back towards the Federation for assistance in light of increased Romulan presence in the surrounding sectors.

More recently, the Klingons are finishing off the remaining Dominion systems with Romulans making some conquests of their own, the Federation, although at war with the Dominion is performing a supporting role in the continuing war. The UFP have signed a friendship treaty with the Klingons and a military affiliation with the Romulans in the hopes that extended range and open trade will help our allies more swiftly defeat the Dominion threat. The Federation has been looking inwards most recently - updating many of the old starbases to the new, larger fleet starbases, and replacing old starships with new top-of-the-line vessels like the New Orleans, Norway, Akira, Nebula, Galaxy and Defiant class ships. Here's a look at the very first Galaxy class commissioned:

Image

With the Dominion almost gone, and the peace treaties between the Romulan, Klingon and Federation nearing an end, who knows what the future holds.

Engaged heavily in the Cardassian/Dominion conflict, Klingon warships in supporting sectors continue to clear the enemy sectors of any orbital weapons platforms that may be a nuisance in the future for the troop ships, to ensure a swift invasion.

The treachery of the Romulans runs deep, as it has been reported that the Kellerun system now contains a massive Tal'Shiar facilitated Battlestation in addition to a powerful Asteroid Outpost that is peering deeply into Klingon territory. The fortification is now housing several fleets of mobile weapons batteries, so production in the surrounding systems has been set as a top priority for the impending battle that may occur should the Romulans continue to build and expand any further towards the T'Lani system. The Kellerun have repeatedly threatened the use of deadly bioweapons on the population of the T'Lani and the T'Lani have informed the High Command that it will rebuild its fleet and attack the Kellerun starbase as well as the Romulan military controlled outpost in the adjacent sector.

The Chancellor was not pleased with the blatant Romulan disregard and dishonor of the agreement not to militarize the Kellerun system in exchange for non-militarization of the Ch'gran Corridor from Benzar down to the jointly controlled Romulan/Klingon "Unity Wormhole". The High Command has approved the Chancellors order to begin construction of Ch'gran Station to further secure ties to the larger satellite controlled by the House of Mogh.

The House of Duras has since detected a massive fleet buildup of approximately 54 Romulan Stealthbirds in the nearby Dorvan system. Should Duras require reinforcements to fend off any belligerent actions taken by the Romulan fleets, they are readily available and currently waiting for a priority one subspace message directly from High Command.

Well things are indeed heating up throughout the galaxy 8O First a quick overview of some past days gaming. The fleet of Romulan warships continued to lay waste to Borg systems and as their end drew near they desperately sought non aggression the Empire.
Image
A tempting offer... but not really :P
Within months the Dominion officially formed an Alliance with the Borg Collective
Image
But it came, unfortunately for the Borg, a little too late (this happened four turns later LOL)
Image
With the Borg gone, the Dominion Alliance stood alone against the mights of the Alliance Council of War
Image
Relations between the superpowers were never stronger as trade and mutual cooperation was shared and glorious war stories were swapped over some blood wine, Romulan Ale, and sigh... root beer
The good times did not last... :( as Romulan and Klingon tensions resurfaced after a diplomatic blunder by the Klingon ambassador (becoming inattentive and bored during a high priority meeting). This enraged the Romulan dignitaries who immediately threw their gagh to the floor and left the embassy. Coupled with the election of a new Praetor who is less open to peaceful coexistence with his neighbors, Klingon/Romulan relations quickly diminished. Honor bound by their treaties it is only a matter of time before war is upon the galaxy like none have ever seen. Defensive efforts were doubled in the vulnerable Kellerun system. As well as multiple orbital batteries and turret emplacements were hastily constructed in all border systems. Our R&D Commission has released new breakthroughs in military firepower
Image
Bout frikkin time!!
Image
Awwww yeahh! The first one roles off the assembly line in the Orbital Fleet Yards of Talaxia (yeah you heard me, Talaxia)
Image
Several more prized additions available for the Praetor's arsenal............
Image
What lies ahead for the Romulan Empire? The Klingons have built a base forbidding the further advancement of the fleets invading Dominion space. The treaty between the great powers draws to a close in mere turns. Will the Klingons attack? And what of the Federation quietly sitting on the sidelines of this galactic game of chess? Peace with both the Romulans and Klingons for some time yet puts undo stress on the decision the Federation president must ultimately make. BTW Klingon Chancellor  look at those systems and see ALL those Romulan ship icons?.... are they turrets and ships?... 1 or 54 in strength?... or just a bunch of scouts and TTs? Remember this well Klingon.... "Misdirection is the key to survival. Never attack what your enemy defends. Never behave as your enemy expects and never reveal your true strength. If knowledge is power, then to be unknown is to be unconquerable." (End transmission)

Edit: The Romulan scanner range kind of resembles a bird with its wings open throughout the galaxy.... How fitting 8)
