agreed, for testing I have no change option at 60 and option set to 30 on 800 version and 40 on 1024 and 1366.

I added UE to tools in start menu with link for java download since it is required. And UE can change zoomed-in view easily.

I was hoping to be able to offer multiple installs with a single click but this causes major issues when uninstalling. example, if you install 5 mods at the same time any uninstall action would uninstall all those same 5 mods that were installed at that time.

Hi Everyone,

this is a question to our German members,
would it be helpful if on the mods that were created in English only, to have option to start with German backup files? This will allow the unedited parts of the mod still to be in the German language. This would mainly be buttons, since ship, structure and lexicon lists are replaced by most mods.

as I have it setup now, if English selected 100% English. if German selected, mix of both languages with English only mods.

Hi Everyone,

just a quick update, After a short vacation I have continued work on this project.
It took a little longer than I hoped but the 1366 x 768 UDM gui has been created.

I could post some pictures, but thought I would give a progress report.

current installer (still adding mods)

Tools (DxWnd, UE, QD's Patcher)

Birth of the Federation (By Microprose)
800 x 600, 1024 x 768, 1366 x 768, (options) evade patch, gui patch, 512 x 512 Model textures, ship Build screen tga images

Error Correction Mod (by Spocks-cuddly-tribble)
800 x 600, 1024 x 768, 1366 x 768

Ultimate Dominion Mod (by siggi and thunderchero)
800 x 600, 1024 x 768, 1366 x 768

Balance of Power (by Gowron)
800 x 600, 1024 x 768, 1366 x 768 (options) evade patch

All the Ages Mod (by stardust)
800 x 600, 1024 x 768, 1366 x 768

Ultimate Mod 5 (by Dafedz)
1024 x 768, 1366 x 768 (options) evade patch

UnCivil Wars Mod (by thunderchero)
800 x 600, 1024 x 768, 1366 x 768

installer is 1.22 gb.
this will still be reduced a little more. but not by much.

I did do something I have not wanted to do. I edited files in the backups.

The change I made were to the combat command images.

every mod carried basically the same file but with different backgrounds. So I removed the background
(pink would display as transparent, so background of combat background would be seen)

Doing this I was able to remove around 2500 images from installer and it now only uses about 100 images.

I felt this change was worth mentioning.

I hope it will all work together in the end.

files in installer 20,718 and they total 3.66gb

I still hope to be able to add files to sound res and alt res. this would increase total files, but reduce over all installer size.

I have also tested using raw stbof.res files instead of installer carrying the compressed res. this also would increase total files, but reduce over all installer size. this would also increase install time by approx 25 sec, but reduce installer size maybe 300 mb.

That's a descent amount of files but still for modern games nothing. Yes I know BotF isn't a modern game but still go get something on Steam and you are often looking at 3 to 8GB downloads. So no biggie IMO.

That would be a possibility in the future. but from what I understand Flocke feels the current build of MPR++ is not ready for public release. So the answer would be no until he feels MPR++ is ready for public release.
