For some reason it seems to not be working. After starting up it black screens then quits to desktop. I have it in the right file format, but it just doesn't take.

I think I might have it figured out, it was the wrong color format

Edit: it seems to always convert back to 24 but after changing file format to tga

UE has a "tools" tab to convert most image types to 16 bit tga

edit; Ferengi dominion alliance used similar image

Edit, oh crap well I guess time to use a different image. Now that I have some experience with it, it should be quicker now

Got a new background for my mod tonight

Also almost finished up federation ships. Once everything is in order and looks good will start on other major races.

Hero ships will only come in after I had a game and see how it feels.

How will your hero ships work? will it be like flagship mod where Flag/Hero ship given on galaxy generation and will auto upgrade as game progresses, but once lost can not be replaced/built.

No background preview?

Unsure at the moment however I know for sure they will not be auto upgraded to new ships as the game goes on. I don't think it would be feasible in a way to create the same ship with upgraded stats over and over in the way I would like to. It would have been cool seeing a nx class enterprise in the mid game due to tech updates lol.

However, your idea of once lost it is gone for good may be a good option. Will have to take a gander at that mod :)

Will attach a pic as requested. Nothing fancy but it's a start

yeah I agree upgrading to a different model does not seem natural. but if you look at as the crew moving to the "new" hero/flagship it helps a little

example; the enterprise-D crew transferred to Enterprise-E

surprised you selected the ambassador class, it does look much better without image background

Getting the base mod done will be priority first and will try not to put my hands into too many things. Will definitely come back to this and see what can be done to put some polish on it.

I clearly don't have the skills yet to make it that clean but that sure does look great! I picked that ship since the image looked nice and couldn't find anything else decent that would work at the moment.

thanks, image editing can be fun, but if you have the wrong software very frustrating.
removing background only took a couple min on adobe.

No adobe unfortunately....if I had it it wouldn't have taking 2 hours to do with my crappy programs lol

Converting jpegs,pngs and other types of formats to the one that works for botf are also annoying since a lot of them do not keep the 1920x1080 resolution. Had to take the larger one you gave me and edit it from that.

Updated first post with patches used so far

Believe the federation is finished for ships(not hero ships however)

Working on other races when I got time.

Updated first post on progress and more information about what this mod is becoming. Suggestions are always welcomed as I make my way through

Finished Cardassian ships

Moving on to other ships as I have time...one thing though; I added the bribe resistance fix patch to this mod and made a building with 500 plus resistance to bribes. Any idea as to why I still get many bribes? I never liked bribes in Botf and would like some way to minimized this.
