Building lists too big

Hi all,
I am new to the modding scene but had this game when it first came out and what a great game. Now got back into after stumbling on this great website.
One thing I would like to do is add a few more variations of defence, but I have noted that when the list of buildings becomes too large in the research screens under the headings in the object database, no slider is added to let you see the bottom of the lists. Seems to work fine in the building area.
Anyone know how to sort this if possible please?
