I like the change of the Surplus Depot function, but I would also propose to add it for the regular one. One additional supported shipyard by the empire is not the big difference, but might be nice and useful.

Yeah, not all parts of turn processing are paralelled, and I think a lot of time is spent on map updates (final part, along with some AI processing). We'll need to check if it can be optimized.

I have been playing till turn 161. No problems with the multithreading.
The issue with fleets appearing in other civ's fleets I think was actually not related to this, but to the way AI ships were redeployed. But IIRC there were also reports about foreign buildings in build queues; it might also have been related to something else, not sure.

However I met 11 crashes in turns: 106, 112, 121, 129, 135, 140, 144, 145, 148, 153 and 158 - all of them exactly the same type as in my previous post: 'FATAL General - Ran out of memory serializing game data. Failed on type 'CivilizationManager'.
Fortunately the crashes were (with one exception) after creating the autosave.
The civilization manager holds a lot of information, doesn't surprise me that it's where a lot of OoM is happening. Diplomacy is another candidate, I've seen a couple, though it should be better lately - at the expense of having reduced the time-limited Regard effects (by making them permanent)...

The turn 161 lasted 47 sec. and all other empires had 195 systems colonized.
Is that kind of low for turn 161?

But I found one bug by the way.
After using TWH there are still some dotted line representing last fleet travel in two variants, through the TransWarp and a regular one.

The problem is that if I do nothing with that fleet the deuterium charge will be performed in following turns as well. I had to at least click the fleet and order it to stay in the same system to avoid continuous losing my deuterium.
Can you explain in more detail what the issues is please, and how it started?
What it looks like is that your fleet in Beta Garretson is traveling normally to the empty sector adjacent to the other TWH, and it takes 8 turns to get there (which seems to be correct given the distance). The straight route, I'm not sure what it is.
I'll check the code for the fuel cost.
Do you have a savegame where I can check what's going on?

How's fleet support so far? Is the Hive Link approach working, or does it need to be changed/scrapped?
Resources seems to be ok'ish (too much duranium?) for your current fleet support (which makes the previous question rather important).

Damn, now we need 7400+ more star names to run such a galaxy...

Do you feel this galaxy size is actually playable (in the fun kind of way) for the "regular" empires?
Everything in the game is affected by a very prolonged delay in contact with other empires - from diplomacy to research to intel, etc.
I'm not against increasing map sizes a bit, but one of the points of the game is to have limited "real estate", to promote interaction - whether peaceful or not so much.

I started a new Borg game to show the problem without uploading my perverted galaxy.
SP Borg Huge Irregular 38.zip
(786.72 KiB) Downloaded 168 times
So first step is to jump from TWH (120,43) to TWH (110,28)
The deuterium cost of the jump is 67 - as I am not mistaken. The aim this time is not to attack Grazer, but to leave the fleet at the TWH.
Next turn the full deuterium cost (-67) as like for the jump is charged again.
Of course the dotted lines are irrelevant, it was only easier to pay attention for that, the bug is in deuterium charges.

Fixed! It was due to a recent change in TWH movement.
I'll upload a new patch in a minute, just checking something else.
The Surplus Depot change will also be in.

New full release, SupremacyTest_20231223.
It's in the main download folder in the site. I re-arranged things a bit there, moved the CE Preview to a folder of its own, and kept (for now) the other folder for the older release and patches; I also uploaded a patch for the older release, to get it to 20231223 status.

Merry xmas everyone!
Have fun playing Supremacy

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

I have found an error. It was repeatable, but because of my clumsiness, I have no save (my autosave was overwritten  )
Anyway it happened during the map update.

Will fix, thanks.
Did you happen to redeploy a colonizer fleet or something?

I am not sure now, but my main test for repeatable error is to press turn without any changes or actions in tested one. And I got that error in such conditions as well.

I really love randomly generated galaxies in the Supremacy!
This time I got a mix of the Bajoran and Barzan wormholes ;)
Would be nice to have different names of the both ends ;)

So the endpoint of the Bajoran wormhole is the Barzan wormhole?
Nice catch! Will look into it, thanks!
