Re: Why do you visit armadafleetcommand

I don't often find myself playing Armada 1 or 2. I'd say, in total, I've probably played about 2 hours of Armada in the last three years, and that was when I was playing around with Fleet Ops a bit. I'll admit that coming back to this site is more of a nostalgia trip to me than anything else. My mos...

Re: anybody still around ?

Yep, still come here from time to time, played STO from August 2012 up until recently; of late, I've turned to some older games I used to play such as TES4: Oblivion and TES3: Morrowind. Broke out some Fleet Ops for a couple of hours with a friend back around New Years, marking the first time I play...

Re: Site Changes are here

That would make for some good times, no doubt. The community may be somewhat smaller than it once was, but it sure isn't dead. And if it once was dead at some point, then it's a zombie. In the event that that is the case, I'd better get my vinyl records ready so that I can adequately defend myself f...

Apologies in advance for necroposting (if anyone knows not what that means, Google is the only word you need to know). I have some updates pertaining to this situation. Five months ago, I had told a few random people, all friends, about what had happened involving the ban I had on my IP. It produced...

Unfortunately, yes, that is the case. On A2files though, I think it's still pretty active, though even they've lost some people there, plus I ain't been there in a long time either. Thunderfoot007 got banned from there, which was a bummer. Majestic's site is, last I checked, still somewhat active in...

At the top, under modules, is a link to downloads, amongst other things in the drop-down box when you hover over 'modules'.

On the left side column is 'Modules" and one of the first options is downloads. :)

Yes, and depending, the inversion (backward-forward, bottom-top, or left-right) or rotation of a group of polygons may result in the inner surface (the texture 'leeward' side as I call it) of a polygon being visible on the outside. One side opaque or semi-translucent depending on the texture, and th...

Greetings Elrond :) Nice to see you again. I solved the problem I think. As both you and I suspected Elrond, twas nodes not being dead centre that were causing his hardpoint woes. As for the not rendering, he had some flipped faces that were causing issues. Fixed those and sent the model back with ...

Not sure why half wouldn't render, but weapons firing from a position quite below the ship would mean that the hardpoints are shifted downwards as relative to the ship's root point. If the root of the ship itself is also shifted downwards, the ship's physics would 'look' funky in-game (meaning it'd ...

I personally think that's an awesome idea! I'd like someone to do that just as much as the next person! Mass Effect is a definite epic win, and so is the Normandy! Seeing that in Armada would be so epic! There is one for Bridge Commander ( here ) and that's in 3ds mode with 3093 polies. Of course, a...

I had known that there were alternate links since the beginning, I figured Warren had been using those as nobody in the universe goes to the aforementioned site. In addition, the machine's down and it doesn't matter that there's a new site, lots of stuff has been lost. And it was a thankless hobby o...

It can also be that non-standard double-quotes are used somewhere (other than the standard " quotes). If that's the case, I could see that causing crashes.

When I last modded the game, I was trying to do something similar and couldn't get anywhere. To me it's about as likely to get something like that working as it is for all of the Star Trek 2009 cast to agree to do a full seven-season series together without wanting a ton of money.
