Re: NEW to Modding. Armada I help please.

It's never too late to begin modding Armada. I still do it on occasion. Working on one now, as a matter of fact.

Re: Windows 7

So far, the only fix I've found is the "Fleet Operations" total conversion mod for it. Then AII runs, but not A1.

Armada II HP-Viewer

Is there an actual HP Viewer that really works? The two on here, basically crash, or are inoperable, no matter what settings I use. I have them installed correctly, so that is not the problem. One crashes when I try and load a SOD, the other glitches, and refuses to let me load one or even find it, ...

First off, never use Celestia. Get ahold of Milkshape. It comes with lots of exporters, and is best to be used for conversion to both .SOD formats for A1 and A2. Celestia is just a flawed program. Import as .3ds to 3dsMax, then export as .may (Maya file, i believe that's right), then use Milkshape t...

I guess....

The problem could be related to an incompatible video card. NVidia Cards are the best with Armada, but the Video acceleration and Hardware acceleration must be Maxed out, for it to work right. If you do not know how to do this, let me know, I can walk you through it most likely.

Unfortunate delima...

I for one know exactly what you are dealing with. It is not a "compatibility issue." It does have to do with the Dual Core processor. The program was designed to be run on a cpu that's only single core, half the speed of the one you are using. With a Dual Core, there become two problems. The game ei...

What can we do to help?

Pretty much all I can do is ODF files, and Vessel Scaling, as my good PC took a shoot, and now I have to use a 7 yr old pos, that can't run the Graphics programs needed to create models. I can however offer a lot of ODF experience and effort. I can also offer to SCALE every ship to the proper scale,...

The Techno-trekkie speaks...

I will say a few things. First, the movie was AWESOME, and second, the flaws as such that are pointed out are negligible within the fact the Abrams did the unthinkable, and gave Trek new life. The Flaws.... The Enterprise is TOO BIG, see the scaling problems in the DITL.org Articles section if you w...
