I don't mean to be disagreeable, but personally I do not yet see what the fuss is about with polys. I might as well admit it now: I have a model that exceeds 10000. Perhaps this is partially (moreso than I'd care to admit) miss-managing of polygons, but as long as it's only on my computer it's not h...

Poly count I would rather withhold. It's a hero model, so hopefully that almost justifies the very high number of triangles. Do I like it? Never thought I'd be asked to gauge my own model. It's mostly good, but needs more evenly distributed detail. The wings are kind of garbagy- but the right shape....

That sounds rigorous (making the cube couldn't be too hard, though :D ). I tried and failed to put myself on a one ship-per-day schedule. Again, your mastery of low polys is to me quite impressive (if you've seen my post in this 3d Artwork forum, that ship has such a high number of polys that I'd ra...

He's been around on the forum lately, just not very often. I think he's busy or something. Most of his recent posts have detailed to us the difficulties that his FT staff have been having, so he's probably getting a bit tangled-up in everyone's constantly changing schedules, and of course his own. I...

My bad, somehow I managed to completely overlook that the Quantum Torpedo Burst subject was resurrected right before I posted this, and that that one produced a certain solution. Apologies for wasting peoples' time with an unneeded post.

Way to go! One of my first models was the "norexan" also, and if nothing else you did a much better job with the front end than I did. Certainly you managed a better poly-count.

You might try reinstalling if you haven't already. I used to have a lot of sound troubles too. I took A1 off my computer for a really long time and when I finally decided that I wanted to play it again, when I reinstalled the sound worked fine. But don't get your hopes up too much, as my Armada comp...

Well maybe in the 25th Century everyone is so advanced that Genesis waves couldn't possibly cause any detrimental effects whatsoever. Plus, Genesis was a Fed technology, so this wouldn't make any sense as a Klingon weapon. And I don't think that they're trying to make a plot merely out of their choi...

How to have torpedo spread weapon, now!

OK, haven't tried it yet, but I think that if you were to take a normal torpedo weapon and ascribe toggle-weapon behavior to it, and also make it drain special weapons energy ( maybe 250 for a ship with 1000 special energy) and set the fire rate to a higher frequency, you could create the effect of ...

perhaps, but the wings do fan out along a different axis, and the ship is certainly more front-heavy than the Reman Warbird.

One You Likely Haven't Seen Before

For your viewing pleasure, I've posted some pictures of an original model of mine. I certainly don't have the time or the willpower right now to texture it, so you'll have to put up with the "flat shaded" effect which I prefer to the "smooth shaded" option. I call this one "Research Ship"... ...from...

Yeah, thanks, that could really work! That is, if you can disable the add-shield thing and if the sprite isn't hardcoded like it is with other special weapons, such as those previously mentioned.

I have a new question. Could you possibly add a custom smoke sprite to a ship that is not damaged?

It's good that the Ion Cannon is getting revamped. The other battleship weapons seemed so specialized in comparison to the Klingons just having what was essentially a "giant torpedo". I haven't seen the movie you're referring to, only a trailer that I commented on in a different post, in which you s...
