It's depressing that members of the community can act like this isn't it? I'm greatful that the Future tense node setup will make stuff very hard to integrate into another mod.

the render to texture option is less reliable than manual face layout but It should work if you collapse the objects, convert to editable mesh, select all vertices and do a light weld... maybe.

in extreme case you could retexture the faces underneath to look the texture ontop, just take a screenshot in ms3d, past the part of the old texture you are loosing onto the texture of the faces that bleed through and align it.

in 3dmax I'd use c_tm_additive_01 and attach it to a sphere textured in clouds that fitted like an Ozone.

I suppose in ms3d a complex alpha chanel could do it.

But no doubt he knows someone with 3dsmax, it'd take 2 seconds for that animation. If you want it doing send it to me with a hp map or list ;) I already have the fusion weapon for my loknar.

yeah, it definately needs something else on those wings, maybe some heavy thrusters for mor maneuverability? or some extra cannons.
