I could debate about which is better, but let that be saved for another thread, another day. The resource system I plan to use will be much different from the original Armada 2 game. It's not definitive so I won't say exactly what I plan to do right now.

You'll need to add hardpoints to the model at the point that you want the pods built. You'll also have to line them up pretty well if you want it to look right.

I suggest talking to Elrond. He has more practical experience with pods and pod weapons than me.

Actually, most weapons support 2 classLabels. One being part of the main odf and the second being part of the ordinance odf. Even so, I don't think you'll be able to combine an engine overload with a tractor beam; I haven't tried that myself though.

First of all, I don't think a laser weapon of any size would have any noticable recoil. Second, the laser is fired from base of the barrel so it wouldn't really matter.

Unfortunately, I can't do any kind of animation myself. The exporter for Armada 2 doesn't support animation. I hope someone will step forward and fix up a new exporter one day, but since that hasn't happened by now I'm not sure it ever will. The recoil would look cool, but would have no purpose with...

You should check out the Babylon 5 mod for A2 available from AFC. It already has a very similar fighter launch weapon which you could use as a base if you like.

The ship is excellent, but I can't quite say the same for the weapons. The pulses look sort of strange and you should add some sort of flare around the beam firing point.
