starship dimension?

Post by EWOK_PatcheZ »

if u go and check out and compare the sizes of the star ships, romulan warbird and the federation galaxy.

how come you can fit a whole galaxy within the 'empty space' inside a warbird?
do you think Jeff Russell messed that up, or how can it be that the warbird is soo large, yet still comparable to the galaxy class, armaments-wise?

From TNG episodes ive seen, the galaxy class wasnt that much smaller then then the Warbird, unless it was at the angle it was shown on tv

The comparisons I saw on that site are a bit overdone: the Warbird os too big or the Galaxy too small... The actual sizes according to Daystrom Institute are more accurate: the D'Deridex is 1041.65 meters in length, the Galaxy a "mere" 641 meters. So The D'Deridex is twice the Galaxy's size, roughly.

Why is it that people insist on using DITL's information. Whilst the Galaxy class may be accurate to a point the warbird is bigger, but not by much. Its also not been claimed what the exact size of the warbird is, and armaments are supposed to be comparable for both.

641 vs. 1041 would make it just under 63% larger. 641 X 63% = 403.83. Added to 641 thats 1041.83 meters. I agree with the Major. Warbirds have never been depicted on film as gigantic ships- just slightly larger than Galaxys.

Meh,the Galaxy is 2 thirds the size of the Warbird like the Vor'Cha is 2 thirds the size of the Galaxy.
