Ship Building Limitations?

Is there a way to limit a ship to only being built once?

I'm working on a mod call "Hero's at War" and I would only like the "hero" ships to only be build once. Thx for any help

This is something I have been trying to work out for my "Heroes" mod though I haven't done any work on it for ages.

A couple of ways that have been suggested to me -

a) Attempt to alter the mining station setup so that the ship built with the station is your hero ship.

b) Attempt to use a research the ship using a pod or arm in this case that self destructs releasing the ship when it is finished.

I have not tested either option but at least it gives you something to go on. If you get something to work, be sure to let me know!! ;)

oh dont forget to clean up the dust out of the A1 mod section that have acumilated over the years lol :twisted: :lol:

The way to do hero ships is to use a tech station. The problem is the ships will blowup when you use self destruct on the station (weapon of choice for making the station blow without damaging the ships.) Use class label manipulation to make the ship not blow up by just using the include command and...
classlabel="pod"
This should manipulate the class structure to make the ships not blow up, hopefully.

dude. don't worry about setting up all those complicated and not quite canon odf solutions, just go the AI file and enter the line for the hero ship and instead a negative 1 in the third slot, put a 1 in making the AI only able to build one of them.

Ok, that takes care of the AI what about the human players.

make them start with it and not be able to build them (cheap but foolproof)
