USS Titan: Alternate version

Post by CaptSyf » Wed Oct 12, 2005 9:49 pm

With the Pocket Books selecting their USS Titan, being a total flop around here, I figure maybe I should design an alternate one. One that I would be proud to call the TITAN. So I put to work on designing a 2D render. Soon the 3D version will follow, which will be for the game. The Titan I came up with is much bigger, meaner, tougher, etc- than the pocket book version.

The specs I've figured for her are - (Speculative - may be altered)
1217m (long)
704m (wide)
306m (tall)
60 decks
Crew - 2100
Capacity 9400 for emergency evacs.

Multi vector Assault mode -
Saucer (w/warp drive)
4 forward/ 1 aft Quantum Torpedoe launchers
14 multi-targeting independant phaser arrays
warp 7.2

Battle section (main drive)
6 forward/ 2 aft Quantum Torpedoe launchers
16 multi-targeting independant phaser arrays
warp 9.999~?

Escort Section (large "Defiant class" size Captain's yacht)
4 forward/ 1 aft Micro-quantum Torpedoe launchers
8 forward pulse phaser banks
warp 8.4

Here is an early draft of it (Sorry, only a side view for now).

I think that looks more like a starfleet ship than a joke (Hence the other submitted one) Glad to see a ship that can actually represent the name of Titan.

Also with the escort section, it would be neat to have a Defiant Class Starship latched in the hull. Something like an Idea I had where a Defiant class ship latched in the saucer of a galaxy class starship and gave it extra firepower and everything, it could even seperate and give the sauce section warp power. It would dock under where the yaght would currently be.

Here we go again with the nacelles!!

It looks like someone "bolted" them onto the supports. The rest of the ship looks okay, but not to sure about the saucer support.

Thanks. I hope this will turn out the way I hope. She's inspired by all the recent ships of the line (canon ones) the "D", "E", Voyager, Akira, and the Prometheius. And since starfleet doesn't have too many "Big" ships, here's one for the record book. She's an explorer, and has direct heritage to the Galaxy class. A replacement if you will for the aging design.

I won't promise how long it will take to finish this ship, but I can show what I'm working on right now.

I'll work on the "bolted on" look, also, I think the 3D version will be better for me to work with.

Sweet, we need some more larger warships like that.

I'm sure someone will do that titan. After all, all that one has to do is kit-bash the akira. As far as calling it offical, it's offical for the pocket-books, but not canon.

I will keep working at my Titan. I was able to get the basic shape of the neck completed.

Still got a ton of work to do on her.

That is nice, I like it, though I can't wait to see what the drive section looks like. Though in mind i See it looking something like Sovvy meets Galaxy Meets voyager, just for some reason :P

This may be the last update between now and next week (I make no promises as I have my heavy week-end work schedule)

She may not come out 100% like the draft image, but this is what she is looing like.

I still have alot of work left to do on her.
