Uss Rhode Island Nova class DOWNLOAD

Post by darth_spankey »

Don't know if anyone remebers me anymore as i have been away for so long but i used to create a few models under the name captain fingers.

As i have had some free time over the xmas holiday i started remaking the USS rhode island from the final episode of voyager.

I have made this ship before twice and disliked it both times, so i decided to remake it and create the texture myself rather than using CGI renders. I am in the process of finishing the top section but have not even started the bottom half

Some pictures:

Yey! Glad to see you again mate. You've been gone ages :-)

Looks good. Like MaP said, a lil bright, i think it needs a little more definition in the texture, possibly shading/lighmaps, but all in all i like it. :-)

i always start off the textures brighter than they are going to be because some of the effects on paint shop pro will darken it later along in the process.

I am very happy with the model personally, the book on game modelling thati bought was well worth it to find some new techniques.

Might I inquire as to the title of said book. I am always on the lookout for good reference materials. While I personally don't like federation ships I think you have done an outstanding job on this ship.

The book is modeling a character in 3DS max by paul steed, i am attempting to get to the skill level to create characters for jedi knight and other RPGs.

Some more pics of the model the textures are now half finished just need all the shadows and 3d effects to be added:

Unfortunatly the deflector is a bit pants, i actually have no idea what it really looks like. If anyone could provide a link i will improve it. I did a few more texture edits last night which were very effective (although not enough for a new picture i will post that when I have it in game).

I will either release it on its own soon, or with a nova class version (i.e. same hull apart from the changes needed for a nova class).

Also does anyone know what I have released and what I have not released as I seem to come and go so much these days due to work.

Most of my models are on my website:
