Federation Sapphire Class.

Post by MajorPayne »

A bare handful of people have heard me mention this, but now its finished (or as finished as I can make it), time for show and tell. The basic principal is this is heavily based on Azel/Atolms Eden Class but I've varied the design enough to reclassify it. Its a very thin ship (I beleive its around 6-8 decks tall and around and about as long as a Galaxy Class), so the height profile looks very strange. Armaments are normal (phaser arrays and a single topedo launcher). The texturing looks a little bland, but I'm attributing this to a new type of hull armour (my excuse and I'm sticking to it).

As for other things. I will most likely be releasing this as a single downloadable fairly soon.

That looks awesome. I do like the ship. It looks like its moving even if it was just sitting there. I can just see Worf calling for ramming speed b/c it does remind me of the design of a Klingon dagger. Keep up the great work.

Have to agree with Zered on this one. Reminds me of a storyline I'd been thinking about back in college. Sort of a "what-if?" type where the Feddies, Klingons, and Rommies made a joint-taskforce with mixed crews to patrol the new alliance formed after the events of A1.
Klingon: Your mother mates with toasters!
Data: How did you find out?!

that ship design is freakishly cool looking. I say freakishly b/c it goes beyond the normal federation design of a starship. But i like the design, looks like it's born to fight.

Great design! the fins on the back of the nacelles are a nice touch!
I agree that it does look like a potentialy klingon influenced design.
Also looks like it was designed for some atmospheric capabilities, possibly exploring upper atmosphere of gas giants...

To be honest I've no real idea of its capabilities or what inspired Azel to create the 2d drawings for it.

However, my own take on it is that its a combination of Klingon and Federation technologies and designs. Due to the missing engineering hull that the original Eden class has I don't see why this couldn't land on a planet. Perhaps the fins could fold up/down for landing purposes.

Great design! It does beyond the normal federation design of a starship. But i like the design, looks like it could land on a planet. I agree that it does look like a federation ship with a klingon designer. But, I still like it, I would have it in my fleet of ships.

Wow, that is one wicked design.

Sapphire is too non threatening for a ship like that.

Rename it the kill-o-matic or the BIG PWN3R
