try what I did to for A2, find an A1 music file go properties and find out everything about it, the bit rate whether it PCM or not and anything else that seems useful. Then get a music editing program if you don't already have one, I recomend WAVEPAD by NCH software. Then get the Legacy music file open it in your new program and export it using the settings from an A1 music file. It should work, I think, that how I make all my A2 ingame music.

Adding Custom Voices 101:

Place wav files into the ADDON folder.

Copy and paste EVENTS.ODF in the root file into the ADDON folder. All modded stuff should be in ADDON or it wont work right.

In the events folder, enter in the new sound files

EG

SOUND <federation> "fleg1.wav"

NOTE: Filenames are limited to 8 characters only!

Open the ODF you wish to have the new sounds play and put the sound files into the odf.

Note that when you put them into the EVENTs file you will have :

NAME-Acknowledged..... etc

Here is an example ripped from one of FT's as I cant be bothered installin another 4 one file:

# CRUISER 1 SOUNDS

Sound <reman> "zrecru13.wav"
Sound <sernaix> "zsecru15.wav"
Sound <sernaix> "zsecru16.wav"
}

In FTs example, these new sounds are for Cruiser 1. In the Cruiser's odf (eg Fedcru1.odf) you then put these lines:

eventSelect = "FTCru1Select"
eventAcknowledge = "FTCru1Acknowledge"
eventAttack = "FTCru1Attack"
eventStop = "FTCru1Stop"
eventMove = "FTCru1Move"
eventRepair = "FTCru1Repair"

That then assigns the entries in the EVENTS.ODF to the ship you want the new sounds for :)

Ignore the alien entries as its a raw example but you should be able to adapt that so you can get sounds into custom ships

are you talking about voices? or sound effects? i.e. phasers, photon torpedos.

Warren,

I have converted the files for you and will be sneding them to your email addy.

Audio format: PCM
Average Data rate: 22.50 Kb/second
Sample rate: 22.50 kKz
Audio sample size: 8 bit
Channels 1 (Mono)

I tested them in A1 and A2 and they seem to work just fine

To illustrate how it all work, I placed these commands in the EVENTS.odf or the EVENT.dat file.

Phantom, I'm pretty sure that you don't need to put a modded events.odf file in addon. It works fine if you just open it up from the root directory, make changes, and save it over the original copy.
