I'm considering either switching this mod to Armada II or making an Armada II mod with many of the same models and weapons after this. I haven't done much Armada II modding, but there are a few things I like about it, even though the gameplay in armada I is better:
I like the fact that you can actually make a massive ship not turn a full 180 in .0003 seconds wich looks extremely horrible and is really really getting on my nerves.
I also like the number of races you're able to have.

hopefully I will get some feedback on this front. does anyone want an armada II mod? please answer.

Another thing: If anyone would like to help me with the mod, I need:

soundtrack composers

voicers

wireframers

2d artists.

alright. i've got two more WIP PICS the first one is a sognos defensive frigate. the second is a sognos missile cruiser. these will eventually be the ingame models.

you may recognize the defense frigate from some of the concept art I posted earlier.

by the way, I've not gotten much feedback and would really appreciate some. I suppose not many people are visiting this forum these-a-days which is sad because this is one of my favorite forums.

here's a portculot missile cruiser. it's one of the portculot's newest designs.

boy. it's so easy to model a ship. the hard part is texturing them. hardpointing and getting ingame is moderately challanging too.

I'm worried that these ships a too high-poly for some people's computers (maybe including mine). what's a good poly count for a ship considering that you may have 50 onscreen at a time as well as blaring weapons. however, the weapons in my mod will tend to be longer ranged than ordinary Armada weapons, thus being more realistic..

oh, sorry about all this posting, but right now, what I could really use for help is TEXTURERS i can crank out one of these low-poly ships in an hour, but to draw and apply the texture takes days and i don't have days of free time. so i could really use some good texturers. thanks. if anyone is interested please say so.

man! i'm trying to get these ships into Storm 3d but they keep appearing as the armada logo. it's so weird. i don't mean the thing that is up at the beginning. i mean when i open the file they appear as the armada logo. i've had this happen before and actually seen the logo ingame. once it was a light too. ex: the STA logo mining a dilithium moon.

by the way. tell me if anyone would be interested in helping of in an Armada II conversion.

thanks.

oh. just so you know, this isn't of course, finished. i'll probably add more details and also I'll certainly texture it. how do you like the general idea though?

Nice design, I like it. :)

One comment on the practicallity though. You'll probably have to reduce the turn rate for this ship considerably to keep it realistic. It seems to be VERY long; if it turns quickly, it will tear itself apart! :o

hmm.. you're right. I've looked at the physics files before and noticed that there were lines dealing with rotation rates. However, I never tried to change them. Just did so now and had no success. I will give it another go later though.

I like your organic design.
It reminds me a little of the original Nautilus...

the Hynaticen colony or mothership is like a massive fish with factories in the back half and living quarters in the front half.
