A1 Main Menu / Cursor

Post by Tommygun_BoG » Thu Sep 13, 2012 7:43 am

1. Does anybody know how to set new default settings i.e. for the music volume or the alternate font? Are those informations are stored within the armada.exe or in a external file?

2. Is it possible to change the cursor graphics used on the 'battlefield'? I successfully changed race specific cursors for all GUIs, but when I move the cursor on the 'battlefield' it becomes the standard cursor again. I can't find any references in the sprites or configuration files.

1. The default settings are stored in ARMADA.PRF. This file is normally created after loading the game. Sometimes I have seen that this file doesn't get created on Vista and Win7 machines. If so, just create a blank ARMADA.PRF file in the root folder and it should get filled in when you load the game.

If you do have that file, the contents should be something like the following, although I'm not too sure what each number represents. The first 6 lines are for game settings, and the remaining lines are for GUI locations (custom locations; defaults are in misc\gui_*.cfg)

Code: Select all

2. The cursor can be changed. I believe the actual graphic is a sprite in gui_global.spr, gridFXSprite, with texture GgridFX.tga

Cheers

Oh, thanks Mr. V!

Finding out what the numbers are for shouldn't be that hard. Changing only one of the values each time will expose each numbers designation.

On the cursor: I'm sorry to disappoint you, but the gridFX sprite is used for the graphic below the cursor which spin when you give a move command.
