unknown at this stage. Though it would probably consist of a couple of ships released for general usage without exploiting the FT code. The models would run without the FT node heirarcy so that you could install on standard Armada. Else too much code would be released and then it'd spoil the fun. Most probable is that 3-4 units from each side would be released in a special Armada 1 package, replacing armada units with Future Tense ones. it is too early to speculate atm

It also depends on the amount of piracy. All released models will have my user "PHANTOM-FT" or whomever made the model physically on the mesh to prevent people pirating parts or claiming it as their own

Sounds great Adam, I think we are all excited for this one.

By the way are you going to release more PT ships any time soon?

Rod.

Are the races research trees really complicated, like researching starship components?
Just special weaponry research? Design research?

Research types are as follows:

Federation
System Upgrades.
You research systems each having 2 - 4 stages. You have, Shields, Weapons/Phaser, Weapons/Torpedo, Weapons/Waves, Propulsion, Holography, Sensors, Construction Design.

The Construction Design builds new ships once all stage research is complete (Eg, all level 1, or all level 4, etc) this gives the impression of building 'state-of-the-art' ships

Klingon
System Upgrades.
These run simply like the original Armada techs, you research system upgrades to unlock special weapons. Some facilities will unlock new ships

Romulan
Tactical Performance,
These run on Performance and system strengths. When systems need to be researched or improved. The player can research into that field. These usually come about when facilities are built that detect weaknesses. An example would be a sensor station being built and detecting a possible cloaked ship. The option of enhancing sensor systems would then activate

Borg Collective
Tactical Assimilation and Adaption,
Borg do not require any research of any type. Their goal is to assimilate anything that moves basically. When you assimilate a starship on an opposite side. One of 2 things will occur. 1) You will adapt to that weapon - IE that special weapon will no longer endanger the unicomplex and it's queen. 2) The collective will intergrate that technology into its own. This only happens if the weapon is heavily advanced than that of the collectives.

Reman Empire
Shadow Tactics,
Since the Remans are highly secretive and very much to themselves, seeing a research unit from a player vs the remans is very difficult. Paranoid more so than the Romulans research is hidden and is spread out among pods, stations and units. Making it hard to disable their abilities. They mainly feature in unit upgrades or class enhancements and refits

Sernaix
Gameplay Research Enhancements,
Sernaix units and stuff are slow on the construction line as they are unacustomed to our galaxy. As a result finding precious materials or energy to open vortex's is costly. Only now, with enhancements to gameplay items such as build times, costs, etc. The bigger, stronger units can take half the time a normal unit would require, a definate aid to them, and a definate problem for anyone in their way!

So can't wait for the mod to be released.
But take your time Adam to destory the bugs in the programming.
It worth the wait peoples.

Are you by any chance a professional game developer? You're really good with the concept. Star Trek Armada I - Future Tense is going to be the game that Star Trek Armada II should have been.

To those that want the mod right now, then "All good things come to those who wait".
