Post by Phantom » Sat Sep 16, 2006 3:40 pm

Most popular Questions that are asked on forum or via PM or Email.

Please read these, BEFORE asking any questions about Future Tense as its silly the way we are constantly repeating:

Armada 1 or Armada 2
Future Tense is made for Star Trek Armada (1) Not the sequal.

When is the release date
Future Tense as of publish date (16.09.06) is aimed for a December release providing everything remains on track

Does Future Tense have MVAM?
Yes... Though it is heavily filled with Bugs. Biggest being you cannot control the sections after you seperate, so it maybe dropped from release

I have heard that FT has more than 4 races, are they all playable?
Yes. The Races you play in FT are Federation, Romulan, Borg, Reman, Klingon, Sernaix

What are the Sernaix?
They are from a fan created series titled Virtual Voyager, takes place after Endgame. The Sernaix are the main alien foe in the two season saga.

How old is Future Tense?
It was concieved around April 2002. Work didnt start till August, the first team members was recruited around Oct. 02 (Cecil & QuantumHalo)

There have been loads of ships in FT, some are no longer in it, will you release them?
Dropped or items that have been upgraded with new sods will be launched in build up to final release, so when items start appearing online, watch this space lol

How big is Future Tense
Difficult to estimate as it isnt complete. The Start up BIK file is estimated to around 140MB. Each race, the size is around 40-60MB so total amount all together with other things, you'd be looking at around 3-400MB as a rough estimate.

Will it be made downloadable for 56k useres?
Yes, split EXE files will be made, for slow downloaders

Did you know that you and your team are celebrities in the gaming community?
Thats just silly.

The plan is to release it on Demonoid as a BIT TORRENT file (BitLord, BitTorrent, etc) would be required to dowload it, and the file presented so you wouldnt need to be a member to download it either. That way no bandwidth as such is used, just used to transfer the data from the FT mainframe (IE my computer and the rest of the teams,) + other people that download it. That way, people can constantly download and seed and boost ratios and whatever for seeding and providing with the FT team seeding as much as they can really. (NOTE: Star Trek Armada not included, this would be in the form of an installation CD so you'd burn to a blank disk or image file and install that way as the total MOD is estimated to exceed 400MB atm. (At the moment for 4 races it is almost 250mb Uncompressed with 120 compressed, there is still the start up and other races + map units left to put in :S

A full download is also expected to reach Armada Fleet Command, and Armada2Files.

You could also use Opera Browser to download and manage bit torrent files ;)
