Making the shield question clear for phantom

Post by USS_Oblivion » Wed Jul 02, 2008 1:29 pm

ok heres what im trying to say: If you hit the shields, will the entire shield take the dmg, like in reg. armada, or will it only effect that portion of the shields? (eg Borg cube hits the aft shield, does all the shields go down, or does only the aft shield take the dmg, therefore the aft shield is down?)

This was answered in the same thread you originally posted. The shields function as one, some ships have enhancers to boost power, have more than one generator or can redirect power to the shields for extra strength. (Classes vary)

I understand what Phantom has said, in order for the shields to work like they do in BC, you'd have to redo the whole shield scripts in order to get like a blast from the side damaging the port shields, though this is a far cry from a simulation game like BC is, RTS, so even remotely doing something like that would be a waste of time. Plus it's hard to control 200+ ships out on the battlefield to turn left if the left shields power is going low, you know.
