SQ:Armada Update Jan 3 2006 (Image Heavy)

Post by rodglas » Tue Jan 03, 2006 8:03 pm

I rebuilt the Atlantis, and modified the Defiance, Primus and Maruder to make them better.

I also rebuilt the Raptor and the Spectre subfighters.

These may not be the final versions as I've just recieved an interesting offer but I am pleased with them.

I have a working AI for the MAC fleet that is just tough enough that I have a hard time beating it but I have no bases in game yet. THe Choa Dai fleet is built and textured and I'll be working on the AI next week.

Here is the Macronesian Fleet minus the massive Stormbringer Class.

I've retextured the Octavian Class to match the rest of the fleet and added the Hydra Class (diamond shaped ship) which is the new special weapon ship. I also streamlined the Bourne Class a little.

It is I think more faithfull to your original Atlantis then my previous model. It is a little bigger in terms of polys but I it take a long time to build and require so much in terms of research and resourses that people won't be building many of them.

I need to work on the forward wing placement admittedly and she might be a little thick but hey she can still kick all kinds of Macronesian but.

My version has 5 rapid fire tubes in the bow, 5 multargeting fast firing tubes amidships 4 heavy lasers and 3 rail guns firing from six hardpoints.

It makes this ship the toughest warship in the game.

Rod.

PS Up next ... The Choadai.

Id be very concerned if my boat (Which supposedly costs 36 billion to build, excluding the monstrous R&D...) was going around in large fleets of 8 or more.

...Not that I wouldnt want to see such an obscene display of ownage given the chance.

These are the first new pictures of the Choadai in some time. So I think a more detailed post is in order.

The Dragon, Serpent, Angler and Kamui are all poly reduced orginal models having been seen before. I've applied new textures to them.
All the rest of the models are newer.

The Cobra is a slight homage to the roots of the game and is the most "trek" looking ship in the game.

From left to right top to bottom

Moray Class heavy fighter
Shiou Class Fighter/Interceptor
Cobra Class Special Weapons Sub
Angler Class Minelayer
Komodo Heavy Battle Sub
Serpent Class Heavy Cruiser
Dragon Class Heavy Cruiser
Kamui Class Figate
Viperfish Class Improved Sub frigate
Dragger Class Light Attack Sub (Dragna Class Inspired)

Thanks Hammer.

I rebuilding some of the UEO ships right now thanks to JJWard who has been posting updated designs on his site and been sharing some of his stuff with me.

I've already rebuilt the Defiance and built the Defender Class which will likely replace the NAVIS 19 (Larger black/grey UEO Sub) as a primary unit

I will be rebuilding the the Trident (Smallest blue UEO sub). Atlantis and seaQuest will likely remain for now.

Every time I try to make a better seaQuest on the heals of making a new seaQuest I fail. I think I get trapped in the "What Worked Before" kind of thing. But I've actually made some small improvments to the existing model.

I may add JJ's Reverance Class to replace the Primus Class but I think I will probably alter the design somewhat.

If you want to see his designs go to http://atlantisdsv.newcapequest.com/index2.html

And look in the library.

Question: Why do the Mac's have a UEO style Marauder?

Also, what about the Nycarian Empire?

What legendary models, Rod. Definitely caught my eyes. To see almost the entire Macronesian fleet in one pic was intense. The models though - that's what will be really wicked! I'll look forward to the day I can download these!

That is the Macronesian Demon. They are in the Episode "Spindrift".

In the episode they are called Subfighters while UEO model is an SSN.
I figure the Demon is a tactically scaled down version of the Maruder.

For the mod I've given the Demon fighter weapons and greater speed. The Maruder is still fast but armed with more powerful weapons.

Several of the MAC ships are courtesy of Staxus. Only the Bourne and Sabre and Hydra are completly mine. The Octavian I built after one of JJWard's designs and applied one of Straxus' textures. The Hydra is mine with another of Straxus textures fitted to it.

Must have missed that episode.

But you never answered my question about the Nycarian Empire based on the African continent.
