EAS ENFORCER: Points Of Authority - Part One

Do you have creative writing skills?? Think you can charm the masses with a story or two?? Perhaps you can create a mini-toon based on Armada. Then give it a go right here.

EAS ENFORCER: Points Of Authority - Part One

Post by EAS_Intrepid » Fri Apr 07, 2006 3:19 pm

This is part one of the new EAS Enforcer episode "Points of Authority".

Here's a little spoiler:

EAS Enforcer, underway to Y-557, January 20, 2247

The Enforcer's command officers are assembled in the briefing room. Commander Berrens enters and takes his place.
Vassiliev: "Okay, now when all of us are here, I can give you a briefing about our next assignment."
Aymes: "Sir, if I may interrupt."
Vassiliev: "Go ahead. You would do it anyway."
Aymes: "Command seems to use us as a caretaker for the hole sector we are operating in. We rescued M-308, investigated a Drazi outpost, intimidated a station's owner who rejected to supply EA ships and many more. I mean, we are the only ship out here. The Amundsen has been reassigned, the New Orleans had a engine damaged and was towed back to ESTA Proxima."
Vassiliev: "Commander, Earthforce has not recovered from the War. It is logical that we are the only ship out here, because we simply do not yet have enough ships to boost our lines.
However, we are ordered to fly to Y-557 and meet the EAS Achilles. The Achilles is the lead ship of the new Omega class and mostly escorted by one or two other ship, guaranteeing that nobody ambushes the Achilles and destroys it. Now, Earthforce wants to conduct some deep range tests with her."
Sostchenko: "Earthforce wants to test a new warship, but don't let it fight."
Vassiliev: "Exactly. The Omega is the hope of Command to have a new breed of ships that can repel ANY aggressors, including Minbari and Centauri. And when it is destroyed before we have just a little mission outcome it might be a failure. The next point is, that Command wants no one closer than 900 kilometers to the Achilles. They can see the ship, but don't scan it."
Sostchenko: "In other words, they want a rumour in the Non-Aligned Worlds about a new EA destroyer, but nothing that can be used as evidence."
Vassiliev: "Exactly, Commander. And we are to play the kindergarten teacher for the new kid on the block. When we met the Achilles at Y-557, we will escort her through a normal patrol run. Or with other words, the Achilles conducts our patrols and we take care that nobody closes in on her."
Ivanova: "Do they really think an Earth Alliance ship is supposed to look after another EA ship, just because its new? I mean, do we follow that ship through any damn system it will pass?"
Vassiliev: "Ensign Ivanova, I did not wrote that order, nor do I like it."
Everyone remains silent for a moment, some are looking at Commander Berrens.
Berrens: "Sir, may I speak freely?"
Vassiliev: "Any further complaints about our tasks are no use, Commander."
Berrens: "This does not concern our task."
Vassiliev: "Speak."
Berrens: "We wondered why a Marine commands a warship."
Vassiliev: "Because I am actually not trained for spaceborne assignments like commanding a warship?"
Vassiliev looks at Berrens with a critic look.
Berrens: "Yes, Sir."
Vassiliev: "Very simple, Commander. Most Earthforce Navy Captains died in the War, I have some little expierences with warships and I already commanded larger Marine Corps units. Strategic Command asked me to take over command, and I agreed. It is some kind of ... challenge for me."
Berrens: "Frankly, what if that would have cost our lives, Sir?"
Vassiliev: "We are all still alive. And I really recommend, that you do not say anything like that again, at least you could have talked to me alone."
Berrens: "Yes, Sir."
Vassiliev: "Good, dismissed!"

4?? There's no four, it FIVE, Babylon 5

What is the point of your question, no offense, I do not understand?

It's a fanfiction series, based on Babylon 5 and placed on the Earthforce Nova Dreadnought EAS Enforcer NCD-25.

Part II is written right now and will have some surprises and a little politics, also a minor space battle and the rattling of sabers!

I divided the whole episode into a two-parter (the first of B5 ENFORCER, yay) because in Part I there is mainly this weapons test and how the crew gets underway with the Achilles to do a job most do not really like.

Is it okay to post a word document to download or should I post the whole story in a post?

Post the whole story because word documents can sometimes not run over the Internet.
So stick to what your doing.
