I have just completed constructing the ship, the grand total of polies is 3864 and it was done in gmax:

A good looking model, but don't be thinking this will run well in either Armada game. Once its finished you might consider seeing about it being ported to either SFC3 or BC as those two games prefer a hgiher poly count.

texture help

Post by Captain_H » Sat Jul 03, 2004 1:21 am

Would anyone be able to texture it for me? I can't seem to get it right.

Edit: MAP, how do I reduce the polies in gmax? If you don't know then how about anyone else who uses gmax?

Nice model!!!

Take it from me, doing all the work yourself gives you the most pride.
Texturing is all and all, part of the modelling. I'm still learning about this mesh rendering and modding stuff. I would never say it's easy, because it's not. Just a little friendly advice. :P :) :)
The end of one Era is near... Star Trek Armada II - All Good Things...

Captain_H. Just use lower side objects. If you use a cylinder which has 32 sides, try one with 24. You get around 35% reduction in the number of polys for that one shape alone and the effect is very nearly the same.
