It is a sad thing, he was a very interesting person. I think that David Letterman has lost one of his best ratings boosters also.

Aye, he lived a long and crazy life. Cheers Steve, you're one of the few people who's inspired me.

Quoting Dr. McCoy: he's not dead, so long as we remember him.

Correction.. he appeared on Leno, Jack Hanna appears on Letterman.

Personally, I never like him. he came across as arrogrant and smug and downright reckless. While I never wish harm to anyone, the way he teased and taunted animals.. daring them to bite him.. it was only a matter of time before something tragically will happen. Sadly , it finally did. When you play with fire, you're gotta get burn.

But the thing is, He is all against Crocodile Farms and other types of farms in which they breed animals just so some guy with a gun can come in and hunt the animal.

He started a foundation to help prevent that type of thing, and his legecy will live on with that foundation.
Will update later

These things do happen. I cannot say I am surprised that someone who takes risks as he does has met a fate like that. He will be sorely missed though.

RIP

He was only 44 I think when he died, I wouldn't call it long at all.

There have also been 3 other Aussies die this week, Peter Brock the racing driver is one of them. The media is calling it the Black week.

Its a bad week for us Aussies.

I keep watching the Croc Hunter episodes, and it's just even sadder when ya consider how much Steve had going for him, and it all went down in just a moment.

Shame steve Irwin isn't alive to cameo in the Halo movie as the Aussie who was practically based of him, I didn't even watch the croc hunter and can't believe he's dead.
