Re: anybody still around ?
I tried removing splash.exe from Armada folder, but splash screen is still there when I'm opening game and it crashes...

Re: anybody still around ?
let me rephrase question,
are any of the buttons on the splash.exe used/needed other than "play".
play can be access by simply using armada.exe

Re: anybody still around ?
maybe only "unistall"... but that can be done with "add/remove programs"... so you could say there's no purpose for splash.exe

Re: anybody still around ?
just an update to your listgalac wrote:And for dxwnd you can ask him following
1. Enable saving game
2. Full screen enabled, no windowed mode please
3. I dont know for you, but while "playing" A1 in dxwnd there is Windows cursor in middle of the screen
4. Faster game speed...
1. I have got saved games to work
2. and 3. using full screen option of dxwnd it removes the "windows" cursor.
4. could you explain how it needs to be faster? I have noticed on different setting using the space bar has no effect but worked on last configuration.
now one that is not on your list.
game is stuck still at full screen 640 x 480 8 bit

this is the one that worries me, I was able to get game to load using ollydbg decompiler and it only gave me one resolution option but game was in window and not sure why. but it was 640 x 480 16 bit and it listed my video card instead of "default"

Re: anybody still around ?
for full screen,..is it fixed that crash i was talking about??
and for fast faster gameplay...hm maybe that's just "feeling" when game runs in windows...probably just that
best resolution for A1 imo is 800x600... i'll try something about resolution myself

if you are talking about thisgalac wrote:for full screen,..is it fixed that crash i was talking about??
I have never experienced this using dxwnd in full screen.galac wrote:unfortunately, it crashes on splash screen, without window!
the only time this happens is when I am not using dxwnd.
not sure what you could do, editing the ARMADA.PRF will not work since game resets it to default value every time game loads with dxwnd.galac wrote:best resolution for A1 imo is 800x600... i'll try something about resolution myself
I hope gho will be able to allow dxwnd to read system display driver as originally intended.

question where do you install armada? default location "C:\Program Files (x86)\Activision\Star Trek - Armada"
also I should note playing game in window, still has issues he is working on. he wants window and full screen to work properly.

Re: anybody still around ?
only software I know of is Ultimate Unwrap 3Dgalac wrote:how you can see/extract models from BOTF??
the developer created a plugin to convert models to 3ds
files are in the stbof.res
extract hobs (3 per model, a.hob is highest poly if model uses lod)
extract gif's (could be use 1 or more gifs)
convert gif's to bmp's (plugin can not read gif's)
extract texture.lst (this file has gif info used by plugin)
build images are tga format (not needed to view or convert)
demo will allow you to view models no exporting with out purchase.
but even then the conversion process to hob can alter the polygon layout (combining polygons) so some models may need some repair.

it works for me on Mozilla Firefox, you could try
a different browser or right click link and "save as"
Re: anybody still around ?
No success...
Anyway I will ask you a BIG favour (if you have full version)... Can you export to SOD format in UW 3 vessel types - Edward class and London Class and Klingon LI'wI' Class... I need only those vessels..I can't remember does UW supports Legacy, cause there are also some nice vessels

Re: anybody still around ?
unwrap will export to 3ds, also it is the base format I use before conversion
legacy models I have never had much luck with, but unwrap has a new plugin for them?
