Well I for one am thoroughly impressed considering that neither Armada engine is supposed to support them well. USSCapital. Any chance you could clue me into this at some point, as I'll be able to make a start on my own new Armada project, and this would be extremely beneficial to it.

Hehe very nice USSCapital, it's about time more people started using things like this. I'd tried it with my Earth Alliance ships, it's possible to get some really nice effects with it. Pretty much identical to the warp nacelle glows people have figured out now too.

MaP, have PM'd you with how to did it...

Note: USSCapital, hope i'm not treading on anyones toes here. I don't do much actual modding, so i always jump at the chance to pass on any knowledge I have, hehe :P

Looking very good.

Tried hat with my current EA Nova DN for Parallels, too. Haven't figured it out yet, but really, really nice!

Thanks for that Atlantis, but you might need to go into some detail for me. Sprites aren't exactly something I'm to familiar with.

Thanks but, as for the sprite file entry (not sure which one, which means I'm dumb in this field), is it a new node placed where I need it to be, or..........??

yes just place it like any other node , took me about a few hours to figure it out

here is an example of the code i used =

original code for the glow >

Code: Select all

@sprite_node gcglow softglow const (1.9,1.9) (0,0.5,1) billboard
new code>

Code: Select all

@sprite_node drglow softglow const (1.9,1.9) (1,1,0) billboard
now i have added this code to the lights sprite file i can add s_drglow_01 to the mesh and it will have a yellow glow instead of the stock blue glow
(i will make a list of the colour codes for you to look at)

these are the colour codes i have tested so far (i was not going to post how to do this but i might as well now)

Code: Select all

yellow = 1,1,0
blue   = 0,0.5,1
red    = 1,.8,0
green  = 0,1,0
purple = 0.5,0,1
white  = 1,1,1

i am also experimenting on giving the engines a flicker when they are damaged or offline instead of the plasma venting effect
