i have got this working , the engine glow now flickers when the engines are offline (just got to sort the flicker speed now cause it flashes far to fast)

it looks good ingame , i have now got it to flash twice every 5 seconds

did you manage it to trigger the effect with disabled engines?

yes :wink: , i am also in the process in making a new damage texture along with a new effect to go with it . i am adding it to all the terran empire ships then redo the tauz kingdoms ships

i did very little if you look at the sprite files , everything i need is there :wink:

@sprite_node d1glow softglow flash1 (2.5,2.5) (1,1,0) billboard
add that to the lights sprite file ,rename the d1glow to anything and then add it via max (thats what i am using)

eg: s_d1glow_01 or what name you are using to the engine damage node

this gives you 2 short flashes then a five second gap and so on

no probs , dont forget to change the colour code (second lot of numbers ) if you desire a different colour flash
