After studying the events of the era surrounding the Enterprise-B. She would have been on the forefront of the Klingon/Federation peace negotiations. She'd also presumably be involved with the Romulans as in the time period there were several Romulan attacks and conspiricies in a very darker starfleet including the useages of illegal cloaking devices and spies placed within both powers. It is also the last 'recorded' encounter with the Romulans that Starfleet has (Season One of TNG) since the Enterprise-C was destroyed by Romulans there was no official report on her, just that she was destroyed while trying to protect a Klingon outpost from an unprovoked attack by enemy forces
Therefore the Enterprise-B (which is also credited as having 2 Captains, (Early TNG manuals before Generations) would have been between the two races trying to keep the peice. Though it is unknown wether the Enterprise B was destroyed or retired.
I'm not sucking up dude.........and since the aft shuttlebay is a raised up part of the hull on the aft section of the Engineering hull its easy to spot, even in these shots
*rolls eyes* Oh, it's called a sense of humour, so calm down. You only notice it if you look closely, if you already know it's missing. Otherwise someone else would've noticed
