fine the new series is better then the old series in every way realism, effects even the title sequences. the old series was just an overbugetted waste of time the only thing they did right was to provide the basis for the new series.

The old series has it's charm the new series seems to feel like an Eastenders in space to involved in talking and over elaberation trying to be more drama than SciFi action.

I like the new series because the special effects are better. The story could have a little more action, but hey, there's enough to keep you interested. Plus, hearing time refered to in "Centons"... really got annoying.

Hate the word "re-imagine". They should have left the original well enough alone. Sure, it wasn't a masterpiece, but it was fun and reflected the care free popularity of the Star Wars era. This new one... too much paranoia and hate the female Starbuck.

The old BSG was wayyyyyy better then this new crappy un-imagined BSG.

1. All the men are wimpy and indecisive.

2. The producers make humanity out to be barbaric communists that are believe in polytheism, while the cylons are the righteous christens.

3. All the love triangles are incredibly insipid. Those lousy producers turned BSG in a soap opera in space!

4. The female starbuck (or stardoh) was very irritating. I was jumping for joy when they found out that she died!

5. I just can't stand how they humanized the cylons. Their now just 6 foot tall underwear models that frack you to death.

6. They turned Baltar into a good guy! I loved they way Baltar was the typical bad guy in the old BSG.


So to sum it all up...

The Original Battle Star Galactica was a fairly good show. Had a nice balance of action and story line. I would recommend it to those who are into quality and tasteful sci-fi.

As for the New one: it’s a soap opera about a very flawed humanity that are trying to escape a bunch of pornified bad guys. I would recommend it to those that are into flashy graphics, a load of pointless drama, and a bunch of censored naked women.

Ahh, but what a way to go!

Seriously, I enjoyed the new BSG, a lot more realism, less "wagon train in space". Good backing story with the 13 colonies that was never well developed in the original, plausible ending with "Humanity" settling on the new Earth and adding their genetic material to the natives.

All around better show and well worth the Hulu subscription to binge watch it from time to time.

Well the original series was very good, but did suffer with the extremely dated effects. The re-emagined was much better for that reason only. Also I do agree that the overall story arc was better but the end episode was seriously poor. A massive plot hole exists which just cannot be ignored -

1. The human land on planet earth (no way you can argue this), and yet there is no mention of them in this supposed earth history.
2. They destroyed most of the fleet but did retain at least one raptor shuttle and you are going to tell me that nothing of these people was dug up at any time.

Sorry to say this but the final episode was just to unbelievable due to the plot holes. This simple premise of the original series was better. They simply never found earth, end of story.....

....but is it!?! Could there have been a better, more rounded episode to finish the series of?? answer is simply: maybe, but we'll never truely know.

I could write 2 pages on this line. Short answer... there is something like this in the earliest writings in cuneiform. Volumes have been written about the Anunnaki, so I will encourage you to investigate that on your own.

But in short, and according to currently accepted history, 500,000 years ago we took an amazing genetic leap:
Our brains quintupled in size, something no other species on the planet has done thru evolution.
Our hands went from grasping limbs and rudimentary rock tools, to shaping wood and rock into tools, creating art, farms, trading posts, ships...

We survived at least one great flood, maybe more, and the little Ice age that are rated as extinction level events for thousands of species, without help? Without some fore knowledge or forecasting ability?

Possible I suppose, but I see plenty of room for something LIKE humans landing and polluting our genetic pool... teaching, guiding, helping avoid planetary catastrophe, and yes eventually lost to history, or dismissed as gods or myth after thousands of retellings thru oral histories.

Well, we can insert the "Yet" argument here... that they had not dug up a Viking longboat, until they did. Maybe they just haven't found Adama's Raptor YET!

But I can only imagine ANY tool or personal items of these "genetically compatible" and advanced race members was coveted, passed down, traded at high value and eventually worn out, lost, or destroyed to keep away from someone else. So it is conceivable to me, that all traces of an advanced race that could not duplicate it's items, would eventually be lost to history.

Consider, You take a firestick (magnesium and steel sparking tool), machete, axe, and some cast iron cook ware to a deserted island. After 20 years of constant use... the firestick and the cast iron (if treated well) might still be useful. Worn, but worth keeping. How much better of an axe do you think they had on Galactica? What exactly would you be looking at after 20-50 generations of use?

The Raptor... well, they never say what Adama did after he buried Roslin. That could be a whole series unto itself if he didn't fly it into the sun as a spectacular suicide.
Maybe they used it communally until it ran out of fuel and then recycled it down to the seat belts.

I agree with you the ending seemed rushed, I'm not sure if they WERE rushed, tired of it (writers AND actors), or trying to leave some loose ends to try and squeeze out a series of what happened to "Humanity".

I woulda watched it.
