Apparently its going to be a Prequel movie to all the films to date (Motion Picture to Nemesis) Why does this sound like its going to have Enterprise written all over it. I'd rather see the remaining Next Generation Crew Crossover into the Deep Space Nine Crew

Nemesis' ending in 2380 was left very open to create the next installment in 2154 seems well, Enterprise is ok, and it'd look impressive on the big screen but with so many haters, I can see this being a flop before cameras roll.

It is also rumoured that it will take place on Earth and Starfleet Academy. See this would be fine as long as it wouldnt be classified as Star Trek 11. It'd be good if it was like a subset of Movies and have the Series Movies produced and have these produced so they are like TNG and DS9 or DS9 and VOY airings that go side by side with each other

Would ne of u watch a movie prequel?

Yes...but grudgingly!

What the Hell happens to all the other un-told stories then!

What happened to Voyager and its crew?
Did Sisko ever re-appear?
Did Riker have fun on the Titan?
How long can Picard take Kirks advice and cling to the captains chair?
Did the Romulans follow-through on the peace treaty with the Federation?

and God knows how many others!

i have to say this is a very dodgey idea. with so many continuity issues in enterprise and only another few years of life left in the tng crew before they retire and refuse to do another film i feel this is gona be, as phantom mentioned, a flop before the cameras roll.

although it may slove the question of when they will do the romulan war. maybe they never intended to put it in the enterprise series, maybe this film will be off the war (its begining, its end, somewhere in the middle or possibly the whole thing, though that maybe difficult in a single film).

So Phantom. Where did you read this to?? Also it seems you information is sketchy at best considering how many links you receive when doing a general search on Google. Also IMDB (which is probably the best source of info for any film), has zip on it, which to me says that its a film thats put into the "I'll believe it when I see it" catagory.

Sounds interesting, however I hope its not enteprise period, though I do like enterprise alot I think it would be cooler to have a series maybe set between 2200-2230 area, before kirk, but when the federation is well founded.

Sounds somewhat interesting, but I would rather have a DS9 movie or Voy movie. This is probably going to be one of those movies that has the brand name but doesn't have anything to do with it at all.

Who knows what Paramount really has planned. I remember when "First Contact" was being done, the web was full of rumors and dis-information about the film. I even read one synopsis that had the Federation being destroyed by the Borg.

But hey, does the franchise really have another film in it anyway?

I guess we'll see.

If there is going to be an 11th film based on ENT, it shouldn't be called Star Trek XI but something else with star trek in it. If it is true that the film will be based on ENT then hopefuly it will show something about the Romulan War.

i think a starfleet academy movie or even a series would be cool. If they did a series of it they could do it during the Romulan War as suggested and you'd have these group of cadets with the cliched vision of glory and battle and by season 5(if it lasts that long or is even produced) they graduate and of course go find out how bad war really is and one of the main characters dies or somethin.

Well im a bit disapointed that its not the voyager crew in it. Im interested to know if it is the enterprise crew, whether it going to be done in between season 4-5 or whether they'll wait til after season 7(providing it last that long). I think people should stop talking about the Romulan War, If Berman and Braga wanted the federation to be founded over a war with the Romulans they would have done so in season 1. But both of them like to play God and bugger up the franchise. But i think STAR TREK XI would be a cool name. I dont want them to go all starwars on us.

I also receive this news with a dissapointed ear. For me, Star Trek is about continuing into the future as the Star Trek timeline developes. I'd personally like to see a TNG, DS9, or Voyager crew or a combination of those crews in the 11th ST installment. I do agree that if Star Trek XI is Enterprise or even before Kirk's time that it should not be called Star Trek XI.
The first ten movies could be considered their own volume - perhaps identified by a title of its own or a number. Then the prequel movie(s) could be in their own volume. I think that if there is to be a pre-TOS movie there would have to be more than one movie to keep that story interesting (like the Motion Picture went to Wrath of Khan which went to Search for Spock).
It would be cool to see what the Romulan War was like on the big screen or what the first half of the 22nd century was like, but all that production for just one movie would not be enough. There would have to be a cliffhanger as there is in many of the Star Trek films (like what happened to V'Ger, what was to be next after Kirk defeated Khan, would Spock return after his death, what would happen to the first Enterprise to succeed the original, when the Ent-D was destroyed, would there be an Ent-E, etc).
Every Star Trek movie leaves some questions to be asked and to be answered - perhaps a few not to be answered. Now with the Next Generation era being cut in the year 2380, what's to happen in 2381+? The story must somehow go on if Star Trek is to go on. Continuation of time into the future, in my reasoning, seems to have represented how Star Trek continued. I think Enterprise is a good show - despite some trouble with the ratings. But a movie about it confuses the timeline of the movie series.
Though temporal discontinuity in movie series can create original situations (Star Wars), Star Trek is not in a good position now to try something too different. What made Star Trek successful 35 years ago made Star Trek a great franchise. The story lines can change, yes. But to change the way the movies continue is like messing with something that isn't broken. Nemesis wasn't that terribly unsuccessful, despite what some may believe. It didn't bomb anyway! Heck, there have been bad Star Trek films and good ones - none of them have seemed to appeal to many people outside the Star Trek world, but were nonetheless successful overall. Star Treks V, VII, and IX have been considered by many polls to be pretty weak. But Star Treks II, III, VI, VIII, and even X have been considered as good Trek movies. I say in my opinion, continue the next movie from Nemesis.
Star Wars at this point is in the same situation as perhaps Star Trek may be in if it takes this path for their 11th movie. Star Wars Episodes IV-VI were great and everyone over the years got used to the cast. It was literally a classic, beating out the first Star Trek Movie. Over that many years of watching Star Wars, viewers of the videos got used to these people like Chewbacca, Leia, Luke, and Han Solo. Then in 1999, Star Wars Episode I, which took place some 50 or 60 years before Episode IV, came out in theaters and was a good movie with a solid plot and good acting. One success didn't mean a second success (not that the first movie was vastly successful). Attack of the Clones was given a never-before-seen two stars for Star Wars because of predictability not to mention wooden acting. However, for Star Wars, this wasn't entirely disastrous. This was the way the story was written - it was cool in this case to do what was done with Star Wars. Star Trek is just different.
The reason that Star Trek would do better continuing from Nemesis may be because characters are slowly phased out over the years instead of getting rid of them all of the sudden. For us Star Trek fans, we still want to see Picard command the Enterprise and even though some crew have left, it is not improbable that their roles would appear again if the next movie was a TNG-era movie. Dr. Crusher, Troi, and Riker have been transferred with Data being killed. I'd say the characters were phased out appropriately. One day in a Star Trek movie, Picard will probably be phased out as Kirk was, either in battle or naturally of old age. That is how the future continues. What about B4? What is to happen there? I think the answer is predictable, but I still want to see how he will develop into a replacement for the Enterprise's beloved android Data.
Lastly, I definitely agree with Star Trek not going Star Wars - Star Trek is Star Trek and lately I've seen a trend toward it becoming Star Wars. Please God No - Don't let it happen Paramount! By the way, sorry for the long post. I ramble when I get excited about stuff! :D

I like to see the new movie a combination crew from all the various series. Who would be the captain? the commander? ...etc., Would there be a new ship? Would be a nice opportunity to mix and match the crew of your choice. Anybody care to state their list? :?: I've yet to make mine.

Since the Star Trek X: Nemesis was the last TNG movie, I think it should continue on to DS9, sort of like Star Trek Generations did with TOS Kirk to TNG Picard.

If the DS9 cast are not willing to do a movie, either being not intrested or tied up in other shows/movies, why not do a Voyager movie, as if i remember many of the cast wanted the series to go longer than the seven year run.

I just hope that the producers do not do a Ent era movie, the series is good, but the movies should continue into the future 2380+.
