There have been far out theories that UFOs and other unexplained phenomenons originate in parellel universes or other dimensions.

Anything is possible because mankind has yet to barely scratch the surface of what is out there. We have dwelling upon benign alien lifeform , but what about of non-intelligent types... like those you would encounter if say on a uncharted island? They could be harmless and small as plant life to possibly dangerous and as large as predatory dinosaurs! There are most likely places in this universe you don't want to go alone... or at least without some heavy firepower to back you up.

*Yeah, been watching Alien Versus Predator too many times.

As I see it the facts are vauge at best. One, we don't even know where we came from truely. We have theories but they have serious flaws. IE: science dictates that all things move to caos. Thus, how is it that, in such a breif time in the history of the world did atoms suddenly form the apropriate structures for the myriad of chemicals and protiens nesissaryfor even the simplest life.
By that alone it is astronomical to belive that the same series of events were repeated in any of the unkown number of worlds. Not to mention the event of H2O is improbable as it is very difficult to just happen it takes very presice events to create it.
Under those ideas it is improbable if not impossible for life to exist out there. much less to be more advanced than us.

I'd like to point out that some of your argument is mistaken, and/or flawed. First, lets move to the basics, H2O. H2O has already been found on the moon and Mars, and even asteroids. So, H2O in not very hard to form. Actually, it's one of the most abundant resources other than basic elements.

Now, as for the odds of any chance that life forms, Sure, statistically, yes the odds highly against it. However, when you factor in the number of stars, and the number of galaxies, and the fact that we've only begun to start to explore the neighborhood, the outlook improves. Suddenly, even a 1:1,000,000,000,000,000 looks really good for the chances of life forming events to repeat itself. Also, lets not leave out that the only form of life we know of is Carbon based. Start factoring in the other elements, and there's even higher chances for life.

A long time ago, people believed that the earth was flat. Then after that bubble was popped, then there was the idea that the earth was the center of the universe. People believing that there's no way life can exist outside earth is the same exact thing.

Two things that Science minded people should never do, and those are:
1.) Use the words NEVER and IMPOSSIBLE .
2.) Suggest that what we know is absolute.

But Hey, this is a debate....

Granted I negleated a few facts in my haste to voice my opinion. :o
However I still have a hard time beliving that these beings could possibly have existed long enough to have inter-stelar, or even inter-galactic travle at this time. There it took us this long to get here so any specis must have been in existance hundreds if not thousands of years before us.
So yes there could be life but I doubt its is even sentiant much less more advanced.
I will try to be slower to blurt out unproven theorys.

Do I believe in UFO’s, hmmm.. , that’s a question you have to answer with a yes and no at the same time.

Do I believe that people have seen flying objects which they cannot identify : a definite yes .

Given the fact that the military does operate a lot of test and experimental aircraft some even very far advanced, it is highly likely that someone has seen such a thing and mistook it for an UFO.
Do these objects come from outer space? Given the statistical chances : no. Chances are to slim, yet. (I will explain later).

Do I believe in live in universe at an other place like ours? A definite yes.

Life on our blue planet has proven to be very versatile and can even exist in the most adverse environments we can think of. Like hot springs, extremely salty lakes, in the deepest oceans, even Antarctica
So it is not a question if life out there exists, the question is where.
Given the size of the universe there have to be thousands even millions of places.

Do I think that other intelligent live exists ? also a definite yes.

Given the age of the universe and accepting the fact that evolution is taking place in other places also, there has to be. Even more advanced than we are. And even more numerous we might think of.

Than why do I not believe that UFO’s from outer space are visiting us?

The answers are size and time, even the theoretical state of their culture.

First size : The universe is so large that the number of places to visit, the distances between the single stars are so overwhelming that it is highly unlikely that an other civilization might ever find us. Visiting all the places would take more time than their civilization would probably exist. Or ours. (Even if something like a warp drive or better has been developed by them, or will be by us.)

They would have to look actively for live out there as we do (Think of the seti project).
And visit only interesting places.

That’s where time comes in : we are broadcasting signals into outer space since around 60 years. So even the strongest of our signals has not travelled far enough out there to be detected by someone else. Yet.
If, when ever, one of our signals reaches someone out there, humanity might even have died out long ago.

I think we are separated by time and size of the universe to come into contact with someone else ever.

And even if so:
If an other race has reached our solar system by chance and is friendly to us, they will have come to the conclusion that we are not far advanced enough to make contact. They might watch us, but we would never ever know, because they are so advanced. We are probably nothing else than an interesting lifeform to them. Something you watch in a zoo.

If they where unfriendly we would no longer exist.

...there is no need to "belief" in UFO´s! UFO´s do exist! Everytime you see
something in the sky, first it is an UFO! An Unkown Flying Object!... 8)

Wow, look at this! Its a Ufo! No, a Boing! No, a Airbus 380... :D  :)

So, yes UFO´s are existing, I have seen one by myself!
But, are they out of space? No I think! Most realistic idea is, simply prototyps!
Or if you need some "Outer Limits" stories, take Chrononauts instead Astronauts!
Thats more realistic...   8) :)

It's all to easy to jump in and forget a few things, But thats ok.

I have to agree, I find the odds against life forming, much less being as "Advanced" as us. However, the math speaks for itself. I personally have a hard time believing that Aliens have visited us. Distance is the number one factor. It would take a real "Warp Drive" or "Hyper Drive" to be able to go the distances between stars within a reasonable amount of time. And since I see no proof of such technologies existing, then I have to say that any life out there that is more advanced than us, is not much more advanced.

I have seen a quote... UFO. However, I am 99.9999999999~ % sure it was an experimental military aircraft. It did nothing outside the reasonable limitations of our current technology capacity. Only thing weird about it, was it was just like some of the UFOs I've seen on the Discovery Channel. You know, the triangle shaped one with the globes on the bottom. It was flying a path that put it going from one local base to another.

So, the answer is YES, I do believe in UFOs, but not the Aliens that some people think are flying them. The Definition of a UFO is this: UN-identified Flying Object. That is anything that is flying, that you do not recognize.

I simply am amazed that humans at the zenith of each successive generation pompously swagger around with the attitude of how great "we" are when most of us don't even have the logic or imagination to conceive that there is SOOO much more going on "out there" that we will NEVER know about.

Just because we can't picture something in our minds we discount it and even ridicule it. If there is a "way" to traverse vast distances between stars we not only disbelieve it is possible we are stupid enough to add phrases such as "by all we know it is not feasible," like we know every friggin thing. Shee!

We perceive that any other races in the universe are just as dumbass as we are and aren't creative enough to conquer some of the challenges we find impossible such as detection of civilizations or quick travel. We've found the building blocks of life throughout our puny solar system yet must be so dense as to believe that somewhere out there these elements could not have nurtured life simply because we don't see any right here on the ends of our peckers!

If we can't smell it, eat it or screw it we don't believe in it. And even when we do see "something" we convolute matters because we reject the obvious.

The possible alien visitors to Earth probably call us the Dumb A-holes of the Milky Way

CaptFuture--Do you, if I may be so bold to ask, have some knowledge that the rest of humanity does not? If so, please share your info with us and the world.

Maybe the UFOs do get of on a technicality. They aren't guided by aliens since they come from the hollow inner Earth; you know where Hitler and the 4th Reich reign today.

Lol... This is going to spark some debate here... :D

So, I question you this CaptainFuture: What exactly is Stupid about believing in life beyond earth, and could have the technology to watch us? And was it equally stupid for people to think that the earth was flat? Or that the earth is the center of the universe, in which everything else revolves around?

Just curious Capt'n...
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

I myself think it is highly unlikely that any other race has been here at anytime in the past. However, it is not impossible, scientifically speaking. There is too much mankind does not know to rule out such. Only time, technology, and exploration will ever truly answer these questions.

Story-time boys and girls...
Interestingly enough, the other day I had a run in with a man that had a very closed minded view of things as such. I being the type to likes a good debate, challenged him on his views. His view that I focused on was this. He said that it is a waste of time to spend money on Astrophysics, and as such, NASA and any other space agency. He made the remark that we should spend all that money on earth exploration and medical research. He stated that there was no such thing as a UFOs also. So, the debate was on.

I pointed out that there are several medical break-throughs that came from space exploration. I also pointed out that NASA is using space based technologies to learn more about earth from space, that could not be possible on earth. Then I went on to point out that space exploration pushes technology past it's limits, as do wars. So, given the option, I'd rather spend my tax dollars on space related sciences, than on a war of any kind. I also went on about the views he stated, would interfere with people's rights. If that's the case, then the idea that people shouldn't be allowed to be scientists in astrophysics and such, is the same view as saying people can not believe in whatever they want. If we did that, then we become extremists just like "Bin Laden". Then I pointed out that UFOs do exist. It's just a matter of perception. I asked him if he ever seen "anything" that was flying, that he could not exactly identify.

After about 30 minutes, he acknowledged the fact that he had never actually looked into these things. I gave him some websites that would allow him to learn more about such topics. Since then, he has had a different view on these things, including UFOs.

Sorry, I felt this was relevant to this thread. Perhaps we all have a little story to tell.
