struggling to add mods

hi there,
i just downloaded a couple of mods, to add ships into my armarda 1, but then when i went to play i couldnt build any ships or play properly.
how do i apply these mods properly??

How did you add them? did you just paste them in or did you alter the files?

Which Mods are you trying to add? are they Addons or individual ships?
