Armada 2.....swap file space

Post by Knightwolf2102 » Sun Mar 01, 2009 3:17 pm

A few months ago I came apon this problem of not enough swap file space....so everytime I try to play a new of older (saved) game it crashes.

I still run Win98....yes I said Win98.

I am running the ShockWave mod and had made the dominion fighters/attack ships the same for the dominion and cardassians......changed the files back to original stats and still have the swap file space problem.

Win98, nice :)

If your computer runs out of physical memory (RAM) while running a program, a part of the free hard drive space is used to store anything that doesn't fit in the RAM (swap file space). If your computer runs out of swap space, anything that needs more memory will crash.

I would recommend getting more RAM for your comp. Win 98 doesn't need very much, but having more never hurts, especially when running mods. Make sure the RAM you get is compatible with your comp.

Also, see if you can free up some hard drive space. I think Win 98 has a disk cleanup tool. When that is done, defragment your drive.

Hope this helps.
