Xbox 360 and next gen game consoles

most of the gamecube games games are for kids there are 2 games i like for GC that is Tales of Symphonia and the new Zelda thats coming out

It's simple. I was working at a video store at the time ( as a secondary job), and had access to a PS2 24/7. However, since it closed it's doors, My kid hasn't been able to play those games. I got him games themed from a couple cartoons that my son likes (Duel Masters and Megaman). So, now that the PS2s are on sale, I am going to by one.

As for that Nintendo, If it's under $150.00, then I'll be in line to buy one shortly after it is released. And as for the backwards playablity, It's about darn time. I got a ton of older games to play on it.

As for PCs vs CNSs (CNS= Console), It's just my view of things.

As for Emulation, I've been playing those for some time too. If you have a good system, then Emulation works well. I play my old TG16 CDs on my PC using an EMU. My TG16 bit the dust about 3 years ago, but I hung on to my CDs. Too bad there isn't an adapter to play the Hu Cards too.

All in all, I've actually been trying to get back into collecting games and consoles, but it's hard to keep up with the newer systems with the prices/ quantity. If those game companies would consider that they can sell more with lower cost systems/ games, then it would be great, and they would make a super tanker load of cash.

Note: Im working in Aussie dollars here.

I have heard that the game companies put a certain price on them. It only costs them about $5 to get the game on CD. They up the price on it to meet their expences and a bit of profit. Then all the retailers mark them up majorly to $100, it's primarly the retailers that make it so expensive for us.

It actually cost less than a dollar to press a cd and since memory chips are so expensive... these were the primary reasons why game companies switched from cart memory to cd for game data storage. Much of the profits from the sale of a game.. about 60-70% goes back to the game company while the rest winds up to the vendor and other third parties involved.

Other than sentimental purposes, there aren't any reasons to retain TG16 cds or any of the old cart system games, since much if not all can be played via emulation on any reasonable computer within the past five years or so. You can play nes, snes, sega master system, jaguar or any other system's games you can think of short of the PS era. Much if not all their rom programming codes has been dumped, abandon or released to the public due to age or lack of value to allow people to perserve and archive some pieces of gaming history.

i got a 360 and am impressed and i cant see it flopping

u have to remeber its easier to develop for than the ps3 is going to be

and i has sum impressive backing by game developers compared to the 1st xbox
And xbox live is superior online system than sony has

and star trek :shattred universe is backwards compatable but i cant play it coz my machine is pal and i have antsc copy of it so if sumone wants it

Apologies... did not meant to stray into illegal territory.

Though, this does raises the point... since the Revolution will not support the old carts, will you be allowed to download the games from Nintendo's library right after you purchase the Revolution or do you pay a flat or individual fee for the games and do you get to keep them and how? On memory cards of some kind? What about rpgs? These games takes weeks if not months to complete. Do you have to download them every time to continue to play them? Details are still not clear about this.

On the Rev's controller... not only is it motion sensitive.. imagine swinging it like a bat playing baseball or motioning it like a gun in first person shooters... you could also connect them together to form the more tradtional control pad for those who might not be comfortable with this new concept controller.

While I think it sounds like the Xbox 360 and the PS3 are going to be better quality in game play. The Nintendo system seems more economical to me. 150 dollars for a new system. I think that will accually attract more game makers. Would you rather make $30 dollars of 5 items each ($150 total) OR make $10 off of 25 items ($250 total)? With the cost of producing games. I think when it comes down to sales the nintendo will blow the other 2 out of the water for the simple fact that most people will not fork out over 200 dollars for a game system. That and if the new system is backwards compatible then I like it already. I got a N64 and a GC that I bought b/c they were cheaper to buy. I also prefer games like Metroid and Zelda. The games with blood and all are great fighter games and I do enjoy playing them. But I much rather play a game that challenges the mind. I miss the games that you accually had to think about and the stratigy and puzzle solving more then made up for lack of graphics. Sony has the Final fantasy series. I am not sure what all XBox has when it comes to those kind of games. Well, That is my 2 cents worth for now.

A word of warning to 360 owners there is 1 fundamental AND ULTIMATE flaw with it and it is not all the things i listed before but they put a friggin 40+ foot range on the wireless controllers basiclly meaning to any crock/robber or future convict u can walk down a street with a wireless controller on search and find homes to rob with 360's in them basically put it works and me and a bunch of buddies tried to debunk it but it works 100% so becareful its a rough world out there

I believe on the Nintendo website it says that the old games will be stored on the hard drive. I don't think it mentioned a price, which either means they will be free, or they don't want to curb enthusiasm with that little detail just yet. I think it's entirely possible tyhat they will be free, because I think the online gaming system for nintendo is free to play on...

yeah nintendos current online gaming is free ie mariokart ds via wi fi this turned nintendo
from being the worst company for online to one of the most succesfull with only one game
pretty impressive am speaking about consoles not pc online gaming

Even after hearing everything that has been said not only here but on console and gaming site, Xbox 360 is number one for me, with nintendo being second, due to the price as well as being able to play my old nintendo (N64) games on it.

I would have to say my list would go:
1. Nintendo
2. Xbox 360
3. PS3

Now given that. If I was ever offered one I would take it. AND I have friends who prefer the other 2 more. So, they would buy them and we could all experiance them all. So, its a win - win situation.
