TOS: First Federation flagship - Fesarius - WIP
Hello all,
You ever have one of those days that everything seems to distract you from you primary goals for the day. Well, I have had one of those days. Anyways, I found a reference to the "First Federation" from back in the TOS days. And I got to thinking what it would require to make the First Federations' flagship, the Fesarius. So, from this point forward, I have been unable to do much else but work on this. Well, I started playing with the idea, and soon had a model well into the 25,000 polycount range (only about 1/5 done). So, I started all over, and now I am getting much closer. The model is currently near 10,000 polies, and may well become 15,000 to 20,000 by completion (it's about 45-50% completed). So, I don't think I will be releasing her on a public scale. I may try an even lower poly one ( I figure it may be do-able near the 8,000 poly range).
Here's a pic of it.

Well, I decided to try a lower poly version. I have it complete and ready for SOD export.
This on is still a bit heavy on the polycount (compared to the average model), weighing in at 9744. This will be the final version for now. I'll post the ingame shots soon.
Oh, and yes, this "low poly" one will be released.

It looks like the ship in TOS the Balok character the one that a little guy used a puppet to put a fear of god into Kirk and crew.
A good ship it will probably rival a borg sphere!

A disco ball? lol, That's funny. I guess actually, the disco ball looks like the Fesaruis, since TOS came before Disco....lol
You got it, it is Baloks' ship from TOS. It's the first alien spaceship ever seen on star trek, ever.
Anyways, Here's some pics of ingame. I had a little fun with it in my Federations mod.

Bill Shatner mentioned the First Federation and Balok (well, to a point) in Dark Victory and Preserver, but didn't really elaborate too much.Achilles wrote:I remember the first fed episode, wonder what ever happened to them ?

Cap'n... excellent in-game shots. Definitely captures that flashy (and kinda gaudy) look the Fesarius had in TOS. Though I do prefer the look of that Connie much better.
