Armada 1/2 VS BOTF: Playing without CD

This might be a silly question, but I've been looking around for a while now and can't find an answer.

Do I need a purchased copy of Armada and Armada 2 in order to play them (original or mods)?

I ask because I don't have BOTF (I own the game but lost the CD years ago) and yet using the downloads on this site I am able to play the original version as well as the countless mods.

I own Armada and have the CD w/ key kicking around somewhere, I never bought my own Armada 2 though (a friend loaned it to me so I was able to play it through).

Please advise, thanks!

I didn't realize that Armada was available on this site. I've got Armada 1 and BoTF on CD, but not Armada 2.
I've only seen the downloads for BotF.

no but are other sites plus it 10 year. So the rules are gone now on it. By the download it from thePiratebay.org
