According to the PlayOnMac help, there is an Arguments option in the configuration window:
http://wiki.playonlinux.com/index.php/T ... ion_Window
See the box marked 16 in the image.
Typing -Mudd inside the Arguments box should work.

Re: Tutorial: Install BotF on Mac OS X (Illustrated!)
I never could get it to work in fullscreen on the Mac (I don't even have a Mac anymore).QuasarDonkey wrote: When the wine configuration loads, go the the Graphics tab, and check "Emulate a virtual desktop". This is very important, as the game doesn't work in fullscreen!

Re: Ferengi (free) trade routes
Here's a patch that will totally disable Ferengi free trade. It works by changing the race ID in comparisons from 02 (Ferengi) to FF (invalid). freetrade0.patch: NAME: Disable Ferengi free trade DESC: This patch requires the Ferengi to establish a friendship treaty to trade with other races. Yes, in the downloads section, you'll see a section called GUI Improvements. You'll find all the higher resolution mods there.
Note you need to install both the original 800x600 mod first, then the 1024x768 mod. So you need UDMIII first, then UDMIII_1024.

I'm on KDE. I Press ctrl-alt-ins to pull up the session manager, click on start new session, login, and I'm in a new KDE session. To get back to the game, in KDE, I press ctrl-alt-ins again to pull up the session manager, and select the previous session. It will show the screen lock splash screen, ...

Re: Larger Taskforces Patch
I've updated the taskforces patch tool so it plays nice with the Coupling Terraforming Output to current Bio Tech Level patch. I've also removed a bunch of redundant parts of the patch, to reduce potential conflicts with other patches. If you already have it installed, there's no need to update, but...

Larger Taskforces Patch
An experimental patch has been developed that extends taskforces from a maximum of 9 ships to 18 ships. You can get it here: BotF Taskforces Patch at sourceforge This patch has been under development on-and-off since 2011, but was too unstable for use. With contributions from thunderchero, it now se...

Re: Linux problems/solutions please post them here
Anyone tried playing in multiplayer (lan/wirelles-lan) between a windows 7 and Edubuntu ? I've played games over wireless with two Windows 7 machines and my Slackware Linux system with no problems. And contrary to what you might have read online, Linux can both host and join BotF games. :!: First, ...

No company would ever sell BotF in its current defective state. Because then they'd have to provide support.

Re: Race Intro
I found a program called AVI-Mux GUI that can write out the REC lists.
And now the video plays in BotF! Well, sort of. It's kind of fast. Actually, it plays crazy fast. And with no audio. So maybe the muxer is screwing up the headers or something. But I think we're making progress.

Re: Race Intro
It's probably a safe bet that trek.exe is told to bail out of INFO chunks in the race intros, in addition to aviOpen. aviOpen is just a name I made up for a subroutine in Trek.exe that opens AVI files. It handles the race intro videos too. You're right, it does bail out on the INFO chunks, but the ...

Re: Tutorial for added ship models with UE With new ship pac
So, I made a copy of the game directory in a separate path for use as a sandbox as I figure everything out. Turns out, running the copy of trek.exe runs the game files in the original game directory--not the copy. Or, in other words, the unmodified files. A n00b mistake, for sure. You probably ran ...
