14th movie is on the way

Paramount has announced the upcoming, 14th Star Trek movie, a prequel, story is something about Kirk's past.

I hear there were a few attempts on the 14th, but director after director just quit the projects, now it seems they finally got through.

Sha? Wikipedia : SHA (short for Secure Hash Algorithm) belongs to cryptographic hash functions. Its most used form is SHA-1, which is used in software such as TLS, SSL, PGP, SSH, S/MIME, and IPSec. The family of MD-SHA hash functions started in 1990 with MD4, which was quickly replaced due to...

Re: Picard is back in a new Trek series!!!

To me they're still Star Trek, just different, and if there are new stories/series in that universe, then I'm not so picky about them, just the animated ones, I haven't gotten excited about them.

Re: Picard is back in a new Trek series!!!

I caught up with Picard's Final Season, and so far, as I've watched seven episodes, I think (metaphorically speaking), that it's Trekker's porn. Obviously has nothing to do with intercourse, but the Titan looks good, the updated CGI changelings, the fleet museum, details from all around of the older...

Re: Admiral Chat

I bumped into an interesting/funny fact this morning, when Sweden joined NATO, there was an orchestra at Brussels playing those anthems and such at that flag raising ceremony and they also played ST : First Contact theme there. I guess that was because on that date the Borg were finally assimilated ...

Did you know, that the Earth's oceans take a million (or a billion) years to evaporate completely due to the effects of the sun?
Hence the saying : "long time, no sea"

Re: Admiral Chat

Lately there has been some debate about why do Nick Locarno and Tom Paris look so much alike.

I think Locarno was just Tom Paris' Nick name.

Re: Admiral Chat

Voyager again... This episode about the crew getting letters from the alpha quadrant, I mean, what's this "try to be patient"-thing always, are they really going to crowd the sickbay with people with no problems at all?

Try to be patient my ass...

Re: Admiral Chat

I think I've deciphered the reason behind the so called "cliffhanger" episodes being so irritating, The blame is on Toby, you know, they always end in the same sentence : Toby continued...

Re: The world is a hologram

I picked something up from this AI discussion post, The speed of light, what if I tell you that it is an instant? I know enough from Einstein's theory so I won't go to that, but to me it's just one more theory that makes this universe the more impossible (reasonable space travel is out of the equati...

Re: Admiral Chat

I guess someone had to state the obvious about backlit buttons, but that's not the point, I'm more interested in the cinematic implementation. Probably everyone who's submerged oneself even a little into cinematic entertainment does know that darkness is used for drama effect, especially in horror m...

Re: Admiral Chat

Once again, it's so "funny" watching Voyager again, I mean, what's with this "the bridge gets dark when battle stations is ordered, or when there's some other dramatic event"? I think it's kinda hard to discern the buttons in low lighting, isn't it? Oh well, there were those 70's...

Re: Admiral Chat

"Things should go smoothly, once we get a fix at their location",
now, what is that kind of talk, it sounds to me the crew are all a bunch of drug users.
