Re: Supremacy new release

If savegames are no longer compatible you should name it a new version instead of patch ;-).

I*ll test the newer stuff once I finish my current game...dont want to quit now 278 turns after start :-)

Re: Problems with 64-bit Windows 10

OK..having XNA 4.0 installed seemed to make nothing different. But is it even used, if the game only checks for 3.1 (and 3.1 is not uninstalled from the system) ?

Re: Feedback needed

Perhaps an "automatic" range increase tied to Propulsion Tech Level like in original BOTF might be an idea ? Could also generally make the game (and certain research techs) more interesting. AFAIK in BOTF there was also a minor Boost to weapon dmg based on Weapon Tech and boost to farming based on B...

Re: Supremacy new release

For your reference. My problems occur on a Win 10 Ryzen 3600 (6C12T) System with 32 GB RAM. Turn switching times is ultra fast even now (barely 5s). Yes all sector borders are "ondulating" (theres a tiny color shift running from top to bottom or so). I think I did not notice this when running in Win...

Re: Supremacy new release

Today I played a little bit on the latest Patch. After finishing I checked the AI...apparently it started terraforming now some of the planets. But something more generic struck me today. What exactly is eating up ~50% of the CPU-single Thread power of my system when "sitting" around idle on the gal...

Re: Feedback needed

Ah - thank you for looking into this. Perhaps the AI Expansion might not be too hard to code in, and additional "IF" no more system to colonize left "AND" the "view range" is not equal to EDGE of galaxy map...then build outpost/station in a direction which allows to open up "most undiscovered" secto...

Re: Supremacy new release

Hmmm....perhaps a better idea would be to make an "information field" or something like the fleet support pop up in the credits display somewhere in the science screen where it shows how the RP are obtained and shows RP from Surveying and RP from buildings separately ? That way one could get rid of ...

Re: Problems with 64-bit Windows 10

I checked - only XNA 3.1 is installed.

Should I install 4.0 perhaps ? Where to find it ?

Re: Problems with 64-bit Windows 10

Addendum:

As for the galaxy map scrolling/lagging issue....I noticed that the borders of the sectors are "flashing" all the time...just a thought could you try turning this "flashing" off to see if it speed up the lagging of the map ?

Re: Supremacy new release

Did you check if the RPs increased, in the science screen?
No. I did not. I thought you would get it the same way via sitrep as with surveyors.

Re: Problems with 64-bit Windows 10

I only installed the XNA version given in the link or by the installer...none else present in my system as fas as I now. Is there a way to check the XNA version ? Yes - I confirm the slugginess of the Galaxy map scrolling - especially when zoomed out and Fog of war lifted is NOT related to the "GUI"...

Re: Problems with 64-bit Windows 10

Ah OK. I meant the scrolling in build menus. Not the star map.

For star map I scroll with arrow buttons...clicking my mouse wheel is something I dont like so much :-).

Yeah those tiny triangles one can hardly even "click" them properly, due to their size.

Re: Problems with 64-bit Windows 10

The latter 2 (buttons, scrolling) do not exist in Win7, those are exclusive to Win10 - I tested them again just to be sure. Ah, I think I was not precise enough....I use typically mouse wheel to scroll. But btw. This was also solved (Mostly) by the changes you did to the XNA. Lastly, as you mention...
