Re: Enemy ships going beyond their range

Fascinating..
I had no idea.
I've still gotta let this all sink in.
Thanks big time.

Re: Enemy ships going beyond their range

Oh boy, now I'm confused; I know the enemy can move into another civilization's space if they're at peace with them (except non-aggresion pacts), but none of the ships in question are in any of their peaceful partner's space; are they?... I know you know what you're talking about and that you've got...

Re: Enemy ships going beyond their range

Don't recall you specifically asking, but they ARE moving. In case you missed it, the patch I'm using (Botf-102-W2K-XP-9x-English-German.exe), is not your BOTF_1.0.2_English_German_e.exe one. I'm more than a bit tech-challenged, so I hope the saved game uploaded correctly.. P.S. The ships in questio...

Re: Enemy ships going beyond their range

Cleverwise: All your points are valid and cover a lot that could be overlooked, but I tacked on the -Mudd extension to the target field under properties of the desktop shortcut and hit F11 in-game to show everything on the map and found that there's still no way the ships in question could legally b...

Re: Enemy ships going beyond their range

Thanks for responding.. As a matter of fact, yes, the ship(s) in question belong to the Romulans which have an affiliation with 2 others (Feds, Klingons), but the closest Outpost to one of the ships is Romulan and It's 10 sectors north and 3 sectors east of it. The closest Fed outpost is further sti...

Enemy ships going beyond their range

Enemy ships have a habit of traveling beyond their range; sometimes WAY beyond it.
Anyone else see this?...

Hello people; I'm happy to report that, taking Joker's advice, I tried another download of his patch for WinXP SP3. This time it was a good download and, when applied, upgraded the game properly instead of giving an error message. Looks like I'm on my way to enjoying the game at long last. Cheers......

Uh-Oh... First off, thanks for your generous response. Unfortunately, though, parts of your suggested implementation of a solution are over my head. I've downloaded the botfiso.zip to my desktop and d-clicked on it to take a gander; got a winzip error: "Cannot open file: it does not appear to be a v...

Have XP SP3; d-clicked on joker's patch, get error

Hello people; I'm trying to get Bof to work with WinXP, Service pack 3. I downloaded Botf-102-W2K-XP-9X-English-German.exe. to desktop. Then did a clean install of BoF from original CD. Then I double-clicked on above patch and got a dialog box labeled "7-Zip" with the words "Unspecified error" withi...
