you really need latest version of UE in development

but try creating copy above main structures and don't use main structure to copy data from for basic type bonus structure.

what version of UE did this happen on?
was new structure created? or did this happen while editing new structure?
when you create a copy it will use same images as structure it copied

so not sure when you got error message

also when testing your mod, always test from original install location. if you test from a backup location you would be using trek from backup location and stbof.res in installed location. :wink:

have we established what version of UE you are using? with UE open select help/about to get version if you are not able to download and compile latest comments of dev, I suggest you use "UE 0.7.2dev5d" this can be found in download section" https://www.armadafleetcommand.com/get-files...

make a copy of a ship then delete that copy then save and allow trek.exe to save

this might help, but have to ask did you install hero patch?

Domination = take over the universe, but depending on mod you will get message "accept surrender" around 60 - 75% of galaxy controlled.

The analysis is awful time consuming. I agree, I spent way too much time today and got no where. for now I will leave current "Vanilla Evade/Retreat Crash fix" as is in installer. BTW from testing in combat today it is starting to look like it reloads hob and gif every millisecond anyway....

My simple minded coding, I would expect it would be simpler if we just prevent reading distance points/switch points so they just don't happen. but these locations have not been found yet. as far as array that still also needs to be tested, I don't recall seeing gif's, I put break point on offset in...

I hate to say I am still testing changes, mainly I am concerned that in combat it is still reloading ship files for no reason when "X" distance is reached. this could still be happening up to 4 time.

That's your call what's best and easiest for the multi installer. No idea how many MB removing all B/C HOBs would save. With more research code could be optimized and stuff like station shading addressed (monsters?), but the simple trek.exe workaround "Disable usage of _b.hob and _c.hob" ...

I went down the rabbit hole several years ago adding Evade/Retreat Crash fix to all mods.

once final changes are established for this fix should this be a standard for installer?
