if you want help with just editing with UE as a whole, i could help when i have time.....but other than that, i'm not that experienced with hex editing to be much help there

oh it was. it was the UAC for some reason. but i found an update for windows 7 that fixed compatibility, and after that it worked just fine. not sure what i did to get it to work other than that update, but oh well.

i still have xp on my desktop, but on my laptop the drivers were only available for vista, so i had to go almost 2 years with that crap. but once i had the opportunity, i upgraded to windows 7, and haven't looked back

well, i know this is an old thread and all, but i just got Windows 7 pro (64-bit). the game runs beautifully on it. installing it you have to run it as administrator, but after that you can launch the game just fine. i haven't had any crashes so far, even though i just started playing it on my lapt...

it should work fine from the cd, not sure why it wouldn't install....but try downloading and installing the multi-installer in the download section....that should work no problem

than also try right clicking on trek.exe, and clicking on run as administrator. it's worked for me before...

what system are you running, first? if with xp try win 98/me, and disable the visual themes

vista, try xp

maybe just reinstall it, and try it playing it again. that might work

try SOFTWARE instead of windows............it should work

no, it's down in the US, i guess. not sure why though

i finally figured out how to get most of it lol. it's got 337 verticals, and the texture is on there. i just did how dr.breen suggested on doing it (since i'm really not that good editing textures and such). but for a first attempt i think i did a fair job. now to figure out the lighting and glowing...

yeah, i was re-reading the earlier posts and i agree that it's a little too much. but i guess it's a good first try at it

well, you guys got me curious of how far i can go with making any kind of model. so i tried my hand on the Apollo(sp?) class star ship. if it's the most horrible thing you've seen, just let me know. lol

how on earth did you get the multi installer to run? i've tried numerous times and i have yet got it to run. the cd install works, however.
