Birth of the Federation

I was wondering if there was any way in which an empire could ask for membership to another empire? Say for example i can't remeber where i heard it but i have this feeling that someone said by the 26th century the klingons were part of the federation so i thought it would be cool if an empire could...

Possibly an Enterprise-J as seen in ENT and could be used as a extremely advanced cruiser etc.

i agree that the klingons seemed to have been made softer in the TNG universe well i dont mean soft as in they were weak you could see that they were good warriors and just drunkern mobs really

even i didnt know that liberating the home system of an empire would make the empire start up again i supppose you learn something new everyday

Could it be possible say to incorporate a major power into the federation like you would a minor race. Say the Cardassians have taken a beating in a war and then they send your a membership request and then their territory colour will change from purple to blue and their ships become federation ship...

I know there was one Galaxy-class ship lost to the Dominion but was there anymore reported? and how many do they actually have in Starfleet?

they both wear gold in the next generation perhaps lol or they obviousley both serve on the same ship

yeah if you go to war with an ally they never really wage a good war they dont send any ships in or anyhing.
