Re: A Review of BOTF in 2021
Great talk! Sometimes I wonder too, what other strange guys might be lurking around here. :) At first, by the title I rather expected some lengthy, boring and all too often failing introduction on how to play the game. I am lucky it is not! Already from the start it rather focuses on technical backg...

Re: Galactic Civilizations free
For those like myself that always wanted to give Galactic Civilizations a shot - despite knowing that it doesn't match up in the least with BotF - from Jan 21 to Jan 28 GC3 will be for free on Epic Games! Thought I give it a note, afterall it is a widely known turn based space strategy game that for...

Re: The forum, in firefox browser on a android machine, is blank
Just posting this on my android phone with firefox and all looks fine. On my windows machine firefox looks fine as well. However from time to time the website fails to load, possibly for duty reasons. That case I only see a white page as well, but a few minutes later it works again. The most time lo...

Re: The world is a hologram
I don't have other hard feelings toward Flocke, except that no one deserves to be insulted, no matter what they think. By all the non-sense I've read, I could call myself being felt insulted as well. The one post you accused me for insulting is where I *jokingly* with a smile face stated a little h...

Re: The world is a hologram
Well for your own perfect hologram vision you are free in what you imagine and I will stop to question. In fact at some time I believe we will have the technology to simulate all the human senses with some implants. And like nowerdays we play games and watch tv, at that time we'll probably all enjoy...

Re: The world is a hologram
You don't get it, it is paradise, there is no such thing as imperfection, it is about the ultimate goal achieved, you just experience these always working solutions there. From what you are telling, it rather sounds like a nightmare, where ppl aren't meant to question and there only exist one final...

Re: The world is a hologram
But lets possibly concentrate on a holographic fantasy novel in which the imperial federation is part of and aims for perfection of unification. A liitle portion of chaos is right what you need to give the story a little bit of salt. So what imperfection there is that the imperial federation needs t...

Re: The world is a hologram
And about the hologram, there is limited view that can be seen at one time, that limits the size and amount of how many things there can be. Sure, in a hologram there is no reason to simulate anything that's not to be detected by your sensations anyhow. In fact that is kind of the faults I'd expect...

Re: The world is a hologram
When you somehow devide the universe to sectors, below of those sectors you'll at least find some large scale structures like the Laniakea supercluster. Here an image also included with the large scale structure article from Forbes I posted above: https://www.scinexx.de/wp-content/uploads/t/_/t-01-2...

Re: The world is a hologram
I don't need chaos, but a world too simplified makes me question. Also there is no reason to believe in repetion in an endless universe when there are endless ways of combination. When you think of, each single moment in time there are already endless possibilities. Well, physics become tough to gra...

Re: The world is a hologram
Then there's the looking out for water in ground with a willow branch. Lol, yeah, try often enough and you get lucky. Or go visit a well made magic show and find countless of samples that might miss the obvious explanation of e.g. they knew ahead of where to search and just intended to trick you. I...
