Re: UE Map Editor
So, with many further code fixes I now seem to have a mostly stable version ready. For sure there are some issues left, but for the moment none that poke into my face. The save games I tried I can edit without issue. Even a late turn MUM save I got working. I created two merge request and hope Alan ...

Re: UE Map Editor
Since it also happens with unmodded vanilla trek.exe it can't be outdated/flawed patches in that subroutine? I have BOTF_Top_10_mods_2.0.2_Beta2 installed (1366x768) and havn't modified the files. For testing I always kept a copy and I just did a binary compare. I will try other vanilla installs wh...

Sent you the link, but when it's about the mouse lag, you better try DxWnd first.

Outstanding Victory! Congratulations! How about a detailed after action report of this challenging match?  The ups and downs are when I fix one issue and there comes the next one. Some are obvious issues that are easy to fix, some require more in depth analysis and alot of try a...

Re: Beta testing of new BOTF installers
I think it is time to wrap up this update. (end of march) Flocke sounds like he is getting close on UE update, if you need more time let me know I am confident to get the remaining savegame editing issues fixed next weekend. Then I'll create a dev release and if nothing serious is reported it can g...

Re: Shaka When the Walls Fell ....
The ship tech level reqirements are stored in a smal file called shiptech.sst (in stbof.res), every version of UE should be able to edit them with no issues. I don't recall the file with the minor race tech levels for each evolution level but UE should edit this too? It actually both seems to be su...

Re: Demands. Sounds crazy but I can't find any explanation about them here.
Payment & no payment helps to balance relations. Sometimes it's good to accept a demand to send a higher one back soon thereafter. That works when you have no contested border but a common enemy or established trade routes. When they are at war with another empire, help either side and ask for payme...

welcome booleanBoy! another coders name  sent you the link Also, as you don't have time to develop it further at the moment, have you considered publishing the code on github? For those that asked so far I always handed the source code. But development requires serious trek.exe asm analysis an...

Re: Shaka When the Walls Fell ....
A related question - is there some way that normal (non=modder folks that don't work with hexidecimal etc) can alter the tech requirements for the minor race ships? With some, by the time that I can generate the required tech level, they are really not worthy of front line action ..... Yes, the yet...

I'm not answering to Flocke (not as long he thinks that hell is light and gift is poison  ). Believe me, more of a problem is to explain english speaking people the contrary of force for the term 'must not', which in german translates to being encouraged to do exactly that. You see, when you t...
